If going into H-Town, I'd go Rice Village, Westheimer near West Alabama, and/or on the edge of Woodlands at the Interstate near the big hotels like Marriott.

Thanks Martini...we appreciate your business here in BR.
I have taken my family to the Donut Hole more times than to the Broken Egg when in Destin...it's always been one of our spots while on vacation.

I don't know about Houston...I just heard from the franchisor that Dallas is a go in the beginning of 09'. I am sure Houston will be soon.

My little brother is a Naval Architect/Marine Engineer for Shell and lives and works in Houston. He has picked some of the same good locations that you mentioned.

Forget Martini, you better thank me, I'm up the street, I take my mother all the time on weekends. And the last time to Destin, went once each to ABE & Donut Hole.

I'm just glad Mandina's hated BR so much they went back to New Orleans so we could enjoy this joint.

I say I'm there about 4 times a month maybe a little more just depending on where I am roaming. I grew up down the street and still do a lot of my shopping, banking, haircutting etc...in that area.

Matter of fact, I'm heading to The Optical Shoppe in the morning and to McLavy's so I'm going to stop in. Better not serve me cheap ingredients.

Is Johnny your chef?

You could put one in a little house similar to the original location in Mobile. It would make bank and give spot of tea a huge run for its money.

Like the food, like the staff, like the prices, wish they had been able to keep O'Neil open, closer to home.

As Yogi Berra said, "no one goes there anymore, it's too crowded".

Thanks Roar...we appreciate your business as well. You guys should ask for me when you come in...I would like to meet you and personally thank you.

I have been to Spot of Tea in Mobile...it's a cozy restaurant and I have a lot of respect for their skills. I think the Florida guys will probably end up in Mobile soon.

Our chef is Ashlee Sanders...he graduated from the Louisiana Culinary Institute on Essen and is a solid foodee.

What do we say? Can we speak to the dude that spends his time posting on the TD food board?

O'Neal looks the part, but depending on the type of food and it's prices, will bury certain foodie models. Pretentious and/or high-brow can get lost in the shuffle around O'Neal. Nothing has lasted at the previous location.

Not to mention that the O'Neal/Jones Creek area has went from a total lack of amenities, to a now plethora of similar scaled options..somewhat now possibly diluted?

My name is Mark Dixon...my wife and I own the original Mandeville location and the Bocage location. So, I split my time between the two during the week and am always in the kitchen on the weekends.

Jenny Kotter is our manager at Bocage, and I am sure she would like to meet you all as well. My son Francis (just graduated from St. Pauls in Covington) is also there learning management most of the week.

Ask for any of us...

Mark,

Thanks for providing such a nice place on the northshore. I love going there on weekend mornings after long bike rides.
Going to Sandestin this weekend and will def. be giving the ABE a visit while there.
