I have to agree with the Pedro Special.
The southern style fried chicken at Momofuko Noodle Bar in NYC, absolutely fantastic.

Central Grocery muffuletta comes to mind immediately, but this might require a little thought...

I had a truffled farro "risotto" at Tallivent in Paris that was better than anything I've had before or since. I thought I was done, when the waiter came over and asked me if I was in fact done. I said yes. He looked at my plate and said, "I see you still have some truffle jus, and some bread, I'll come back." I lol'd, then finished the jus off with the bread.

wow good thread! was that rocky/carlos mac & cheese pre or post katrina? i know it took them awhile to get the grease calibrated afterward.
i dont konw how to answer this..my palette has changed over the years.
i've had some amazing tasting pizza slices in ny; some delicious saag paneer in houston and some insanely tasty thai food.
its hard to decide if i should opt for something simple like a hunk of meat vs. something as subtle/complex as the curry spiced thai with all the veggies, noodles, rice and sauce.
i think i'm gonna have to go with the olive garden.

i'm going to have to go with the saag paneer from bombay palace in houston..but the cook left there and moved to another indian restaurant..off voss/westheimer i believe.
this is the only thing i've ever had a friend mail me so i think its got to be up there as far as my favorite.

I will go with the Volcano Roll at Fuji Ya.

I made a visit to this fine dining establishment week before last and the mac and cheese was excellent.
I was even treated to a sideshow in the kitchen, Rocky Jr and the kitchen staff fighting with elevated voices. Some things never change.
The fried softshell crab was also great, very large, fried perfectly.

The perfect bite of crispy skin, barely solid hot fat, and a little meat sliced from a whole pig just off the spit, wire cage, cajun microwave, etc.
Nothing i have ever had in a restaurant comes close to the happiness that a perfect mouthful of crispy, smokey and fatty pork can bring me.
