I feel like this thread quickly turned into just naming any and all restaurants that closed down

I know this was a chain and they all went under, but does anyone remember Po' Folks? Early 80's close to Bon Marche. I think it was owned by or the spokesman was a country singer, Bill Anderson - I remember the commercials. It was like a poor man's Cracker Barrel if you can imagine that
We went there one day, the waitress brings us over to our table and all of the glasses were sticky and the table was dirty. My mom freaked out and we left then and there. Think we ended up getting Rax instead.

Barcadia, even if they stay limping along, has to be up there - a lot of fanfare upon opening a few years back and no "direct" competition anywhere close (Quarters maybe?). Yet looks quite empty most of the time.
IPO was pretty popular to start and just stopped trying I think, and chose to bitch about location instead of reaching out.

Po Folks is a chain. Used to go visit my MIL in FL and we'd go there because they had nothing else.

Didn't baton rouge also have some mrs winners back in the day as well?

What's the deal with Barcadia not being popular as once thought it would be?

Yes. One on Airline the other on Florida across from BRCC

What was that seafood restaurant on Corporate near Jefferson next to Lee Michaels? It had the large fish aquarium.

Blue Fish Grill. It was actually in the Lee Michael's location, not next to it.

Po'Folks was on the corner of FL & Wooddale, Office Depot parking lot (McD's is there now).

My memory is fading, but I remember this place because I was involved in the sale from the Blue Fish owner, who was a trip, after the restaurant closed and then the sale to Lee Michael's.
