FWIW, i'm hunting Old Forrestor 1924. I can't find it but really want to try it.

It was good, but I don’t think it was worth the price. I think I paid around $125. I’d rather just get 1910 or 1920 for half the price

Explain what changes from the barrel to the bottle.

I like it too. But for some reason it’s easy to find with no markup the past 2+ years. Same with the traditional Heaven Hill

Blade and Bow you collect all 5 keys and you get put into their “private club” with a cup and your name on it in their distillery
they should do more for you than that as you got five bottles of that shite down

"regular" Blanton's is watered down to 93 proof. Blanton's Straight from the Barrel is uncut, so it comes in usually over 120 proof. It's a significantly better pour than the standard product. I really enjoy the Gold as well.

Easily better. Regular Blanton's is meh to me and always has been. The gold is better but SFTB is the only one in my cabinet.

Thanks. Didn’t know nor care to research. Assuming you’re correct, that makes sense and appreciate the response.

eagle rare....so now it’s a $60 bottle

I haven't bought it in a while (maybe ~ 6-8 months) and it wasn't that much.

I like ER as well as Blanton's. But i'm also not a contrarian.

Not trying to be contrarian. Just found it didn't meet my expectation.

i think it's a good Bourbon. It's smooth and drinkable.

Gasoline is drinkable too, but smooth is not a word I'd use in my description of Blantons. Burned like fire compared to other options I've had.

Better neat than with a splash of water. Water actually made it burn more.
