Are the public sandwiches ready made or made to order? Never had one.

Lenny's in Destin? Where is it?
Looks like it's gone now. Used to be in the little strip of stores in the Walmart parking lot.

Made to order although they have some ready made in a cooler across from the deli in most stores.

I’m a big Publix homer in general and enjoy many a chicken tender pub sub. Their fried chicken is outstanding but their bread kinda sucks

Our palettes are polar opposites. Their fried chicken is flavorless outside of being salty as frick. Their bread is, by far, the best available at any grocery store and most sub shops. It's soft on the inside, fantastic bite on the outside, luxurious flavor...it's just fantastic fricking bread. It's literally the main reason I prefer PubSubs over any other sub chain.

This is serious business. How often do you eat Publix subs?

Probably twice a month on average. Publix on every corner here, whole lot of options, and consistent quality with either Boars's Head or their deli meats. My go to is their ham salad on the 5 grain bread.

On topic of sandwiches, hard to find anyplace to make a old fashion sandwich except at grocery store these days. Agree if you want fast food a grocery store is a simple option.

Personally when I travel I try and find the local places to eat. When reviewing the menu and they are known for a specific sandwich that’s what I go with. I try not to eat fast food chains.

As I posted earlier in this thread we need more deli’s.

Reasoning

It’s decent bread, sliced meat that is not special (BH is extra cost) generic condiments, sliced tomatoes and lettuce.

The ham salad is prepackaged stuff they pull off their shelves.

It’s fine. Not “top tier”

Add... Nothing special because all the ingredients that I can buy at the store I can then make it at home.

to be fair you could do this at any local deli too.

I think bang for your buck, Publix can't be beat. When they run those $5 sub deals it is stealing.

A whole boars head sub is what $7.50? I have a hard time believing you can get a whole sub w/ premium meat for $7.50 at any place listed in the OP other than subway

Agreed and understood. However, I would wager that a majority of the mom and pop local places aren't handcrafting their own deli meats. Also, don't know why "we" would be hitting an all time low just because one dude buys his sandwich at a deli in a supermarket. Just an opinion. I dig their sandwiches.

Actually 8 out of 10 i just grab the 8oz. container out of the cooler in front of the sandwich line and hand it to them. Still good stuff no matter who's pulling it from the shelves.

Cibo on Carrollton does a good job with Italian style sandwiches.
