Not a fan of King Cake.. But when you are at work even a crappy King Cake tastes good.. I'll take it... A guy brought in a Goat Cheese and Apple King Cake from some place in the Marigny.. Now I am a fan of that cake..

if you like lemon flavor the lemon cream cheese is legit. They dont have it often(I guess lemon isnt a popular king cake flavor) so you have to usually order it.

I love lemon but I don’t like that lemon gel glop out of a can that most places use

I just tried the French one from Maurice’s in Metairie. I didn’t like it. Mostly pastry that crumbled when eating and very little almond paste. Had a decent flavor, though.

Caluda's is another place I've heard good things about. Hope to hit it up this season. The almond cream filled from Breads on Oak is another.

I received a Cannata’s one that arrived it pretty good condition. Especially since it was strawberry+cream cheese.

Can’t speak for the other brands.

Gross. Everything from that place taste like it smells.

The best on the northshore is Zoe’s Bakery by far, but expensive.

Cannata's probably ships more than they sell in store. When I went get one last week I chatted with one of the managers while checking out and he said they are making 1000 a day currently. 500 during the day and 500 on night shift. They have a portal on their website to order and ship. I send some to my employees around Texas sometimes without issue. They even dress them up with mardi gras beads and doubloons and stuff.
