Just had a fantastic shrimp poboy for lunch from Southside. Wasn't cheap but it was great!

Lol... why is that so funny? Because I had expectations for halfway decent customer service?

I guess no one in George's is smart enough to know the answer. The place was empty and it would've taken him 30 seconds to check. No one else in BR has a problem when I've asked. And the crew I was with was equally as irked, and I can promise none of them were ordering vegetarian. It was just a dick comment. I would never said "that's stupid, I'm not going to do that" to a customer.

It wasn't a big deal at all. We left and went to chelseas (RIP). I was just mentioning my experience and why I don't go. Because that's what the thread was for......Where's your useful input?

I know. I should've asked where the nearest place to get decent food was

George's under the overpass has a good shrimp poboy, thin fried catfish plate, burger, and cheese fries.

They really do have legit poboys. Especially if you want the authentic bread. I've always enoyed the place as a good casual spot.

I eat at George's G O'Neal sometimes. It's a lot better than the complete crap they serve down the street at City Cafe, sans the oysters & boiled crawfish which George's doesn't have.

The restaurants are OK, better than most sandwich spots in town. As to his political issue, if I owned a brick and mortar restaurant, you can bet your arse I would do everything possible to stifle food trucks.

Smokie refused to campaign when John "Taliban" Delgado ran against him and we ended up with the biggest jerk in town on the council.

Yes, George's chicken breast is inedible, and that's just stupid of them for it being like that. Other things on their menu are really tasty though. I do question the food handling at George's. The one on O'Neal is a stinky nasty place with a good patio.
