if you want to get him a bottle that he will actually drink and enjoy without hesitation the famous grouse is hard to beat. It’s an everyday scotch with a good price with a nice and easy drinking experience

You are absolutely correct. It has a slight peaty taste to me but it is not peated.

Macallan 12 is the safe bet.
