It sucks but it's not going to stop the fun.

City Park needs to improve this area. They had similar issues with Voo Doo Fest, that led to a cancellation of the last day of their event. Drainage thee is almost non-existant.

Last year was awesome though (both days). It's just the nature of running an event in South Louisiana at this time of year. Sometimes it's going to rain.

If the park wants to host festivals, they need to address their drainage problems.

That sucks.

"The safety of our Hogs for the Cause teams, patrons, and staff is of the utmost importance. Due to the weather, we are unable to open our gates tonight. Friday tickets will grant access to the festivities on Saturday. Organizers are devising a refund and or donation to the Cause process. Visit www.hogsforthecause.org for updates. We are looking forward to a beautiful day tomorrow and can’t wait to see you as gates open at 11:00am."

ETA: All the more reason to get some boots and come out tomorrow early. Gorgeous weather expected, just some sloppiness.

I feel like the park should think about their drainage problems

If it was a privately owned park, or a public park in my old city of Nashville it would be fixed years ago. However, it is a public park run by the city of New Orleans. I fully expect incompetence

Actually the state owns City Park. Not that the state is known for maintaining anything.

Anyone that would demand a refund of $25 that was initially collected for a charitable cause must have a fading grasp of their humanity. I can't imagine anyone seeking a refund for this

Isn't majority of the funding for the park from private donations and money earned from park activities like golf?

I hope I get a refund. I'm busy Saturday and can't use my ticket if it transfers over.

Pre-Katrina, the golf courses paid for the entirety of the parks expenses. It's why city park is so excited to rebuild it.
