I grew up on Blue Plate and don't notice much difference between it and Dukes. Either are fine but we usually stick to BP.
I will randomly switch between blue plate and dukes without thinking about it..

I don’t like the taste of straight Mayo but when making sauces/dressings/dips with a Mayo base, the finished product taste noticeably better when using Hellman’s.

Blue Plate is a Louisiana product, and since I don't really have a preference between it and Dukes, I typically just buy BP for this reason alone.
