Hey SW, you can have 3.5oz/100grams of proteins for lunch and for dinner. A list of the proteins is provided for the diet and certain vegetables. Overall the list is not very big to be honest but it's not bad at all.
They advise very light to moderate excercise doing this due to the fact that your only taking in 500 calories a day and the HCG is supposedly buring 3,000+ a day also.
When we started this they want you to keep track of your measurements and like I said in my original post, the measurements of my thighs and biceps have not changed at all, my chest and waist are melting away. I got my drops from healthyhcg.com, there are cheaper drops out there but I know these are working for me.
Daygo, as I said in my original post, I'm not getting into a pissing contest about the diet. I sure as hell don't have the background to just flame away at the Mayo Clinic with any type of research to contradict what they say about it but from your quote from them it appears like they haven't done much research and are repeating what every other weight loss center who is trying to make money is doing, bashing it. It's working for me and my wife and thats all I care about.
In the end though when I finish doing this it is all going to be on me to start eating healthy. I've never deluded myself about that part of my weight problem.
Can someone tell me how I can respond to several different posters in one reply please. When I hit reply naturally only the one post pops up and would liek to respond to all the questions in one post. Thanks and sorry for being such a noob

Hi Mom, my friend has been off of maintenance for 2 months now and is steadily maintaining his goal weight. At the end of taking your drops they want you to continue to eat the 500 calories a day for 3 days and then for the next 3 weeks you can increase your caloric intake to whatever you want as long as dont have a swing of more than 1 or 2 pounds but you can't have sugars or starches. I believe after that 3 weeks you can slowly start to work some very low glycemic carbs back into your diet.
As I told Daygo, after dropping all this weight it is all up to the individual to take care of himself. I've gotten to a point in my life where I'm finally tired of being fat, not being able to tie my shoes and breathe at the same time, having X's in front of my shirt sizes and I'm going to do my best to get down to my goal and stay there.
Also, just google HCG and look at all the people who have done it and have had success long term. Pounds ands Inches is free on the internet and is the "original" documentation about this diet by the creator in the 50's. I've also looked everywhere I can and you cannot find one instance of HCG being harmful and its been used since the 50's.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to check it out when I have more time. Please know that I am not trying to bash your choice of diet just learn more about it.
Did your doctor approve you using this diet? It just doesn't sound like a smart, healthy way to lose weight. I also don't think the diet & exercise regimine that Biggest Losers does is smart either! Just my opinion!

I currently do not have a doctor. I have been "healthy" for most of my life and from the age of 18 to 42 never saw a doctor of anytype except in the ER once when I split my head open. Three years ago I went to the hospital with Pancreatitus and I got a doctor after that and was put on cholesterol medicine and did fine for a while and eventually just quit going and haven't bothered since...bad idea I know. My overall cholesterol number was 191 but my ratios were horrible and as soon as I finish this I'll get a doctor to see how it is.
However, my friend on this diet did see his doctor before and after doing this and his doctor was amazed at his weight loss and bloodwork and was absolutely impressed. His cholesterol which was in the "good" range was pretty bad ratio wise and thats what the doctors worry about most I think and his ratios improved dramatically.

If you have read the thread, I believe any way to get the weight off is good as long as it is not harmful in the long run.
I too would be leery about using a substance that is not government approved. That's just my take.
Congratz on the weight loss to this point.

I moved back my weigh in days from Tues to Fri.
I feel on Tues I am putting myself behind the 8 ball with the "weekend bloat"
Anyway, I weighed in today at 224 even. So I dropped 1.4# since last Tuesday. And I had a horrible weekend last weekend between Halloween and the Saints game. But have gotten back on the horse pretty well this week.
On Monday I think I am going to start P90x back up. Want to look good for the hollidays.

It's all good TigerMyth! I was extremely leery myself and that is why it took me a month of reading everything I could find on it and convincing my RN wife to do it before we started it.
I hope no one has read a tone in my posts that lead you to believe I instantly dismiss anything you say if have doubts or do not think HCG is good for you, that is perfectly ok and that is what makes the world go round
I love this thread by the way because like some in this thread I've struggled with a weight problem all of my life and really enjoy seeing everyone chip in and be supportive of each other. I truly believe that with encouragement from others, even strangers on a message board, it helps you work toward a common goal

This is so hard for me. I love my friend, but eating healthy is an unknown concept to her. Yesterday, she invited me out for a McDonald's McRib!!
Really???

I'm counting inches, too. Have lost 2 inches in my waist since I started working out 6 weeks ago. No real weight loss, but I'll take the 2 inch waist reduction!

I wish I had measured myself when starting my weight loss journey.
I lost the most inches with only a 4 lb. loss. Went from size 10 to 8 in about 5 weeks! Crazy!

No offense meant here. Thing is I am just leery about any sustance that claims to help you lose weight. I firmly believe that, for a person with no medical issues, a healthy and balanced diet is 80% of the battle. I hope you find whatever works best and safely for you.
I have lost weight twice and found it each time. They say the third time is the charm. So this time around I am trying to be as realistic with my wieght loss as possible. Trying to maintain self control when losing weight and knowing that a maintenance plan must go into effect when I reach my goal.
But let me tell you one thing: Saying I just need to maintain and actually doing it are two very different things. I am more dedicated then ever to reach my goal weight and never want to be 257 lbs again. But just saying it does not make it happen. Some how a person has to reach deep inside to REALLY make this a lifetime change.
Good luck to all!

Ratz!
A friend of mine I've been dodging while in Hermit Mode put his foot down so we are dining tomorrow.
I really can't afford a cheat night with T-Giving this month.

U can do this. Just compensate earlier in the day. And think calories when looking at the menu. Stay away from fried and go with broiled and green.
Good luck!

Overpay for a grilled chicken breast and get some steamed veggies with it. It's not sexy, but it won't kill your diet either

Skipped breakfast and lunch in case I went crazy at dinner, but did a pretty good job.
Pork chop, cheese grits, asparagus and cup of crab bisque.

Beast Rabban...
I would never have associated Count Glossu Rabban with a diet thread (or ANY Harkonnen for that matter).
Feyd-Rautha perhaps, but certainly not Beast.
