Soup is the ultimate low cal comfort food. You may laugh but I recently have came back to the soup used by broke college kids, Ramen Noodles.

The shrimp Ramen Noodles with Tabasco Chipotle is great! And only 190 calories.

We also have taken the time to make a large Mexican soup as well.

We eat tons of soup and all different kinds. My kid will eat chicken raman so we all eat it. I like it and it will fill you up.

244 this morning. Up a bit. I've been out of town for over a week with not much exercise and of course eating out so that blew it. Back to the rock pit today.

Traveling for work is tough for me as well. There are only so many subway subs and Taco Bell Fresca items one can eat. Although chili's has a pretty good guiltless burger.

Feel free to offer any other traveling-meal-lowcal-items to this thread.

I've got a few standbys:

Jason's Deli- cup of soup (fire roasted tortilla or chicken chili) and 1/2 sandwich (usually turkey or chicken salad for a splurge).

McAlister's Deli- cup of chicken tortilla soup and 1/2 chicken chipotle salad (the salad dressing is peach chipotle and it's sweet & HOT).

Quizno's: honey bourbon chicken sandwich

Jack in the Box: chicken fajita pita

See a theme here with chicken?

The black bean burger at Chili's is okay.

When I get to maintenance my fast food list will expand a little.

I pack my lunch most days and don't eat fast food much.

If you need a new fast food item try Wendys chili. Skip the cheese, add onions and a couple hot sauce packets. Its not bad for being fast food and the large cup fills me up has close to 300 calories if I remember right. I'd link it but I'm on my phone

Welcome and good luck! Regarding travel and eating healthy - I like to keep a supply of healthy snacks on hand. My favorites are low salt nuts, soy crisps, babybel cheese & dry roasted wasabi edamame. In addition, I try to eat something like fried chicken without the skin or cheeseburger without the bun. I don't get the sides like fries, chips, etc. The meat fills me up & if I am hungry later, I have one of the snacks I mentioned. I normally lose about 4 pounds when I am out of town. I should just travel more to lose weight!

Has anyone tried mashed cauliflower as a substitute for mashed potatoes? I try to avoid carbs, so last night I tried this. It was great & only 200 calories. After I mashed the cauliflower, I added slices of green onion, shredded fat free cheese, some bacon bits, and some low carb butter spray. It's great. Thought I'd share for those watching carbs & missing mashed potatoes.

We keep it simple for traveling and eating healthy, either Subway, or some grilled chicken entree.

Ive never done a fad diet or anything like that. I have dieted a few times, with varied success.

This is as big as I have ever been though. My main problem is drinking and just eating bad shite for regular meals.

Idon't really have a sweet tooth, nor do I snack alot.

My plan is to eat smaller portions at my regular meals, and eat healthier when possible(about 80% of the time now that it is winter).

I usually drink a couple of bourbons every other day with one and two days a week have 3-5. I am going to cut out the weekday drinking, and only allow myself 1 weekend good time.

Don't really have an exercise plan at all. My wife wants to get big into it, she has before. I don't mind lifting weights, but fricking hate cardio and running type shite.

I farm, so I don't have the opportunity to exercise during the summer months, but will have ample time to do so for the next 4 months or so.

Any advice is welcome!

323/234.3

Plateausville. I just can't seem to get off of 234.

Welcome to the thread.

As people have said before in this thread, move more and eat less.

You may hate cardio but walking isn't so bad. Walk a mile or two, 3 to 5 times a week and cut portions way down.

Drinking is definitely a problem as it can lead you to make bad diet decisions on that Wild Day.

Keep coming here to vent and share your success.

Good Luck!

You started at 323? Damn, thats impressive. How long that take you.

Anyway, just drank my first slim fast. Not bad, but didn't do anything but piss me off. Im a cornfed country boy and am used to some sausage and grits by this time in the morning.

Had a "cheat" weekend, so I'm sure I'll see the result of it tomorrow probably. I'm back to 1500 cals a day and trying to make another push right before Thanksgiving. My goal was 230 before turkey day. Not looking too good in that department. But, I've lost 24lbs and feeling better than I have in a loooong time.

Let the holiday feasting begin!

We had our Thanksgiving lunch here today at work.

fried turkey
honey baked ham
roast & gravy
green beans
spinach madeline
sweet potato crunch
yeast roll
pecan pie
homemade wedding cake

This is what I ate. All small portions of course! However, there were many more dishes that I passed up.

I need to hop on the elliptical tonight for sure.

Yeah I have to face the music this Friday. What should I do?

Think I will be able to handle manageable portions.

All the time, now I prefer it to potatoes, more flavor. I add a little Parmesan and top with a sprinkle of Italian breadcrumbs. About 150 cals for a nice serving.

Roommate that I haven't seen in 16 years calls up and tells me he is in town for a convention.

Belch!

i did really good last night. i made turkey burgers and i didn't eat a bun!!! they were nice and toasted too.

eta, i feel pretty good about my food for the next few weeks too, bc when i checked out at fresh pickens yesterday, the lady asked me which restaurant i owned
