Bodacious is extremely hit or miss depending on the location. I think their franchisees do it their own way.

In Tyler, TX ... Stanley's yes ... may be one of the best "under-rated" BBQ places in Texas (compared to Luling, Lockhart and Austin area).
Agree 100%
Its a must stop for me when im out there for business. Last time i was there we got $80 of BBQ for 3 people, plus it was $1 brisket taco night with homemade tortillas and $2 beers with live music
I think i could have died right there and been a happy man

The bottom of each write up has a rating. Two of the joints rated 4.75 are close to his house. I'm guessing there's only 10 that are 4.75 or better.

Maybe I caught Gatlins on a good day, because it was the best brisket I had ever eaten until I had Pinkertons. They still hold the 2 spot.
Pit Room is legit. Their Beef Rib is excellent.
I totally agree with those 3 on the Houston list. Havent been to Roegels, but its on the list now.

I totally missed that. The font is so weird I ignored that as random shapes.
Louie Muellers getting top 5 is nice to see. Excellent place you could drive to from Austin, eat there and make it back before you could get through the line at Franklins.

I went to Gatlins a couple of weeks back for the first time in a while and had awesome wings and the best brisket I've had from there. Blue oak-esk wings. I was impressed.
I was underwhelmed by Pinkerton's
all depends on the cow you get I suppose.
Pit Room is still my current favorite.

o rly? As someone who eats Blue Oak twice a week and is soon relocating to Houston, I certainly hope I can share your sentiment.

Has anyone ever been to Snow's? Tough to get there for 8am on a Saturday

I was the same way when I moved this time last year and just now discovered Gatlins wings. Only one flavor though -- comparable to Rooster.
Found the pic from when I went:

Glad to see The Pit Room guys made the cut.
This is my sentiment as well. I also tried Caswell's Jacksonville St BBQ by Minute Maid last week and actually found myself preferring their brisket (the fatty cut is all I do) over The Pit Room.

In Longview, TX, it's a crying shame that Bodacious BBQ is on this list. Maybe I caught them at a bad time, but the one time I tried it, the BBQ was dry, flavorless and had the texture of sun-dried leather.
Sad to hear that. It's the closest one to me and I was considering taking a nice Saturday drive to check it out.

I'll try this one instead. I'll hit up the Tyler Zoo while I'm there.

The Bodacious on Mobberly is the one you want to go to. They are franchised and each owner makes it differently. That one is good, I was a little surprised to see it this high but still worth going to
