I have heard that postulated for years, best stated in "Rising Tide". The uptown carnival club clique has been an albatross around the city's neck for a long time.

Now about the list, I'm in the group that would include Mosca's over Impastata's.

Before proceeding farther in this thread, I can't get past this comment. I don't care if you were born and raised in New Orleans, for someone who ponitificates so regularly (and pompously) on the subject, an inordinate number of your posts demonstrate an amazing lack of undersanding of and appreciation for New Orleans cuisine and, to some extent, its culture. Your statement is ridiculous in ill-informed.
