The taqueria on Seigen was pretty good, though I only ate there once in BR

That place is real Mexican food. Hell you order a coke and they bring you a glass coca cola bottle that was bottled in Mexico

La Caretta is the best food

+1 I love to go to Hammond much more than BR. I haven't been to the new location in Denham yet.

Pancho's

Go frick yourself. Poncho's makes Cuco's look like gourmet food.

It's an ok taqueria-I have my favs around Texas, and of course my grandmother's/mother's kitchen. It was certainly better than anything else in BR at that time.

There really are so many average to sucky pretend mexican restaurants in this state that it is not even funny. I have to say that 90% of them are all about the same and must get their same crappy products from the same place.

Very true. I bet the top 10 are places most of us have not eaten.

This whole thread was just a flame attempt by him.

I have not had one good mexican meal in Louisiana

Whose fault is it that you only eat at Taco Bell?

There are countless places in the state to get a good Mexican meal, you obviously didn't know where to look.

if you can't get menudo, barbacoa or cactus then it isn't really authentic mexican.

It's in the NELA "Sicilian" part of the state, but Chilli Verde has pretty decent Tex-Mex. The margaritas however, are way below average.

Panchos???? Unless it's a different Panchos than the one headquartered in memphis, that's a joke

i always liked Serrano's. Ninfa's will be mentioned.

Superior's food is below par.

Trejo's has good tex-mex

Superior is easily better than Serrano's. Serrano's is one of the worst run restaurants I've ever been to.

I like ..
In no particular order (except Ernesto's, cause it's my favorite)

Ernesto's - Monroe

Nicky's - Shreveport

Juan's Flying Burrito - New Orleans

Taquera-A Corona - New Orleans

La Carreta - Hammond

Chevy's - Metairie (when they had the old cook)

Julia's - Alexandria

Los Sombreros - Walker

The new Panchos in New Orleans is packed all the time. Go there at lunch and there are 20 people standing outside. Go at night on a weekend and there are 30 to 50 people standing outside.

It is insane. Goes to show many people want quantity over quality.

I gave it a try and there was absolutely nothing that impressed me. Oh if you go be careful that when you get up to get more, they don't clear your table and give it to someone else.

they're pretty good.

there's also a little hole in the wall over in west monroe, across from the wal-mart that was pretty dang good.

can't think of the name, but went with some friends, maybe it was the mojito's or maybe i was just hungry, either way, it was good.
