This. People are always like, "it doesn't taste like anything." The hell it doesn't.

I love em, but I can't believe we made it to page three with nobody mentioning Brussels sprouts.

It's kale and beets for me. Beets are okay in a salad with a lot of other things, but kale is just pure garbage.

I'm old enough to remember when it was served as an inedible garnish at Shoney's, lol.

I love fried okra. Truly a gift from God.

Beets need to be treated like meat, seasoned, roasted, and sauced. Done right they can be etheric.

One veg I can’t seem to find love for is greens. Collards mustards turnips. Big arse leaves cooked and seasoned to taste nothing like they do raw isn’t my thing. Although I do enjoy them raw in a salad, Ex., shaved kale or cabbage in a salad.

Greens are probably my #1 but the big issue is most places don’t do them right. I like them with lots of bacon fat/smoked meat, well seasoned, and a heavy vinegar pour. City Pork does them really well.

Lima beans.

I can't cook them so that they're not gritty. And if they're one of a choice in sides somewhere out, I can always find something else I like instead of ordering limas.

I don't even know why these things exist. Zero flavor. Horrible texture.
