I try to avoid walmart. Nothing can put me in a bad mood quicker than a trip to walmart.
I shop at Oak Point Fresh Market which has acceptable meat and produce, keeps their shelves stocked, and has enough cashiers. Y'all keep shopping at Walmart and stay out of my way.

I get some basics like peanut butter, milk, and other such things there.

I usually only go there when I'm planning on making a run for other things like cleaning supplies and non food related items.

I pretty much only go to walmart when it's 2 am and I need to restock on frozen dinners to bring to work.

I buy a lot of stuff at Wal-Mart. It's not so bad when I go at like 8 AM after work. I usually don't buy meat or vegetables there, but I won't say it never happens. The fact is they have the best prices and I can get non-grocery items there as well.

Mostly grocery & household stuff, although I try to avoid buying meat and milk there. I do sometimes buy produce at WM, but I prefer Southside Produce for that. Meat usually comes from Matherne's (an Associated Grocer store) or Sam's.

Ugh, no thanks. I think they use that pork that's been injected with some kind of flavor inhancer (I'm pretty sure John Morrel brand does this) and I can taste the difference. Funny thing is the meat from Sam's is so much better (they have different pork than Walmart) .

Never again. Terrible produce with fruit flies buzzing around, the meats are disgusting, even the other aisles, canned good, most items have just one brand. Shelves poorly stocked, apathetic employees, if Burger King ran a grocery store, it would be like Wal Mart.

Target is ran a lot better than Wal-Mart is IMO. Plus I notice that the quality of people who shop there is a step up from Wal Mart.

Here in Lake Charles you have to take what you can get. I usually can't get to Albertson's or a Market Basket before it closes at 10:00.

It's close but sometimes I just miss it. I'd rather Market Basket meats, they're better.

From Wal Mart it's usually just the stuff everyone else buys, chips, milk, TP, etc......

FWIW the hormel salisbury steaks are really good. Cook some egg noodles and add some Tony's to it. The gravy is good.

I get meat from Winn Dixie. I have bought pork chops from Walmart and they tasted fine. I buy chicken from Walmart. It tastes like chicken.

Target is where my wife get all the non food items like cleaning supplies, toilet paper, shampoo, etc. I do the grocery shopping mostly at Rouse's and Fresh Market.

A bunch of pretentious frickers in this thread
Why? Because we choose to spend our time somewhere else than the Clusterfrick of Wal-Marts in S Louisiana? That makes me pretentious? Dumbass. If not wanting to sit in a check out line for an extra 5-10 minutes, deal with the most incompetent workers, and play bumper carts in the parking lots with the most special of special people makes me pretentious...I'm okay with it.
I'll gladly pay the extra $5-$10/trip to keep my sanity for a morning.

I hate me some Wal-Marts in the South.

I eat this every day at breakfast:

A box of it costs $2.50 at Wal Mart. It's at least a dollar more at other stores.

Wal Mart

(P.S. Who's going to start the Sam's thread today?)

Will buy some meat. It just depends. I avoid the produce section like the plague though. Wal-mart is fine for dairy, lunch box items, paper goods, bathroom stuff, canned goods, etc.

My typical Saturday morning is a special outing for me and my 8 year old. We hit Wally World first, then either go to Piggly Wiggly or Harris Teeter for the produce/meat specials.

Dont go unless i'm at the camp and forgot something or ate everything.

I do go to the three most interesting Wal-Marts in LA on those occasions;

Golden Meadow
Marksville
South Lake Charles

My problem with shopping at Wal-mart for groceries is you have to go to Wal-mart.

I used to live close to the Wal-Mart Grocery only store on Lee/Highland and would go on occasion and it wasn't bad at all. Usually pretty easy in and out.
