Yea, I just got it a few weeks ago and have been playing solo 95% and still enjoy it. It’s not like other looter shooters where communities can be toxic. If you want to be left alone and just do quests the game will filter you into lobbies with similar play styles

Rats are starting to take advantage of this unfortunately. I've been strictly PVE since I did the expedition, and lately I've been getting ganked by rats intentionally exploiting the matchup alg in order to get free kills on friendly players. IMO this is a pathetic strat. The entire point of PVP is to fight other in challenging settings. When your purpose instead is to go around ruining the PVE players games by sneak jumping them when they aren't expecting it, then you are just being a dick. I don't see how that's even fun.
I love PVP games, but I never find enjoyment killing players that are completely unsuspecting and intentionally playing to not shoot others.
The devs need to address this. My understanding is you can just jump into a game with a zero loadout, surrender and repeat 10 times, and you will then be put into a full PVE lobby. They need to change this to 10 games of full play. You have to have time committed to each session in order to lower your PVP rating. I also think 10 games is not enough.

Yesterday I had a successful loot day. I found the Aphelion BP in a night stella run, and then I had another player drop the Vulcano BP for me in a Spaceport hidden bunker run. When I find BPs that I already have, I offer them up to other players. A group of us were fighting a bastion, and this one dude appreciated my generosity and offered up the Vulc BP for me when we were extracting.
I'm just about geared up to the point where I will start getting back into PVP again. I want a few more levels first as well as trying to finish this current set of trials. I still need to get the BPs from the Harvester, and doing those runs in PVP is a freaking nightmare

How are they taking advantage? Not that I want to but just for a better understanding of matchmaking because you take someone like me…who’s expecting PvP lobbies every time because I PvP a lot.
If the matchmaking puts me into a PvE lobby randomly how would I know? Im expecting action with every player I meet so it changes how I play.
If I knew I was in a PvE lobby then I’d be less worried and way more open to friendly action.

Most are running in with free loadouts and knocking you while your in the middle of a fight with the queen or whatever and or when your collecting your goods . They just crouch walk up behind and take you out … it gets a little old after three or four games in a row . I get it’s apart of the game but stuff like that sucks ..

That’s just it; it doesn’t. It is an algorithm that gauges based on your PVP fights in each game you log into. The way it works is if you go 10 games without any PVP fighting then you are put into a full PVE lobby. There is a gradient scale as well, so somebody that’s not PVP. Every game will be in that middleground of mixed lobbies.

What some people are doing is running through the cycle so they can get into a PVE lobby to then run around getting free kills against unsuspecting players. It’s pretty low brow in my opinion. The devs just announced this system 2 weeks ago I believe. It was working very well, but now I’m starting to see more people take advantage of it.
When the time comes that I’m ready to start doing PVP lobbies, I will do group raids because that is always PVP heavy and it will put you back into that status. I’m not going to do it in solos and ruining the games for other people.

Bought earlier. Got 3 hours in. Turned off cross platform and have gotten nothing but connection errors ever since. Verified files. Uninstalled re installed. Retarted router. Fiber speed test is fine. Cant find anything on reddit or rest of web about server outages. Not using a vpn

turning off cross play has worked fine for me on playstation. been getting a lot of good loot doing that while in solos.

Cleared dns cache and everything. Finally connected when i turned VPN on. Must just not like metronet.
