Question about recruiting:
I’ve have instances where ‘send the house’ nets me 5 green arrows for 50 points
But at the same time, if I combine ‘social media’, ‘DM player’, and ‘contact family and friends’, it will net 6 or sometimes 7 arrows for only 40 points
Am I overthinking this? Or possibly doing it wrong completely?

I'm also having an issue with recruiting. I lose the "recruiting battle" every damn time to the other school. Even if I'm 1st when it starts. I'll have the hard sell with all A's along with maxing out the rest of the points, did the visit crap, and I still lose. I've yet to win 1 of those yet.
Am I missing something?

Watched a few videos on this and apparently people have done it both ways have garnered better results with sending the house versus individually using the recruiting tools.

nope. I’m also 0/3 in recruiting battles. 2 where I had the higher pipeline rating, had the lead before the battle, successful visit, and landed the hard sell.
check didn’t clear i suppose

I don’t know for sure about this year but last year the arrows didn’t really mean anything.
Also, if you’re building a lower tier program and you’re trying to decide if you should hard sell or send the house, you can check on this website:

I'm on year 2 with LSU. Won the natty last year, undefeated. Played @ Georgia who was now 96 rated on all 3 phases of the game. Well, i'm down 10 with 2:40 left to play. End up scoring right after the 2 minute warning. Decide to kick it and hope my defense comes through. GA goes 3 and out. I get the ball, (down by 3 now), and march all the way to the 8. On 3rd and goal @ the 12 with 32 seconds left, their pass rush gets to me before i could dump off the screen. So, i resign myself to a field goal. Nailed the upright, missed the field goal, lost the game.
I don't mind losing, in fact i want to lose some games. But, the latest patch made my pass defense obsolete. My team is ranked 114 in pass defense this year (i was 2nd last year), and i'm averaging 287 pass yards allowed/game. The GA game, Gunner stockton got 340 yards on me. I seem to be great on 1st and 2nd down, but 3rd down is almost a guarantee 1st down. My edge rushers no longer can get off the tackles. And my zone is very hole-y. I did find that going dime cover 2 was working better on 3rd downs, but overall i just suck at defense. I'll probably play with LSU for a couple more seasons before i restart and build up a bad program. I've tried to look at youtube videos on pass defense, and i guess i just don't know enough about football nor can i access the audibles/adjustments quickly enough to do anything. I've heard 3-3-5 works well, but the same youtube dude that said it was making 3-4 adjustments pre-snap and i don't play enough to get that quick.
Oh, and whatever player i decide to control after the PC touches the ball, i whiff on the tackle, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Not to mention when i try to select a player after they catch a pass, the PC seems to always want me to control the defender behind the guy who just caught the ball. It seemed like before the patch, when selecting a defender, i'd get the guy that was in front of the receiver.

I still haven't bought this yet, is this game really as terrible as all the reviews? I got so used to playing 25 I didn't want to like give up my dynasty team that I was building and download this game and start all over. I was going to buy it once I reached the maximum amount of seasons played on 25. I just read like 700 negative reviews in this game I'll probably just hold on I guess.

Yeah I was giving up 150 yards per game before this patch and now I can't stop anything

I’m building up ULL in a SunBelt rebuild online league and same for me. I went from a top 25 defense with a gnarly pass rush, to giving up 200-250 PYPG to Pure Runner QBs. I swear my DC is the epitome of “3rd and Chavis”
3 and anything plus 10 and it’s automatic for the CPU. 3&17, 3&12, 3&24. I jotted down all the long 3rd downs I gave up against Marshall’s 81 Overall QB. Frustrating as hell.
I really don’t like the rubber banding in the game when I’m up 2-3 scores in the 4th Quarter. Mix that with the PC going for it on 4th and long or onside kicks. And no matter how well I play in the first 3 quarters, they end up only losing by one score or less.

I do wish there was more balance in the run game success.
I can get yards running inside zones, speed options and the occasional draw play but if I try different runs plays I.e counters, sweeps or powers I get hit at or behind the line of scrimmage every time.
I’m not asking for running to be easy but it’s boring to run inside zones for 10+ yards but not be able to run counters or powers. Just more balance would be nice. I find myself only really using 3,4 run plays out of different formations.

I like it better. The patches suck, but they sucked with 25 also when it came out. It's more polished and they added a few things that make it fun. However, they seem to have went to football nerd on it. I feel like i need to have Jon Gruden level knowledge of offense defense. Unless you know what, shade under blitz y right, patchouli ego vector Sam runway 45 veer is, and how to make 7 audibles at the line of scrimmage, then you aren't getting everything out of the game.
And i just play offline dynasty on Varsity.

It's uncanny how the pc defense always knows when i call a run play. Pre-patch, i was running all over the place. Averaging 150-170 yards a game. Post-patch, i'm averaging 80-100, and that's if i have a dual threat qb.

I’ve noticed this through the years with this & madden.
If you call a pass play and audible into a run you typically have more success than straight up calling a run play.

Yeah, running the ball is awkward.
I'm fine with a little more difficulty, but the defense sheds 99% of blocks and somehow all defensive lineman and linebackers have Usain Bolt speed

Thank you for sharing that link.
It helped a little bit but I’m still not sure I understand their system for recruiting

I had to rebuild my wr corps and wasn't paying attention to speed and got all wrs in the portal that have like 83 speed tops (although I think I read a few pages back they made fast wrs rare for whatever reason). I can't throw down field because they can't get separation and the lbs cover them over the middle like flies on shite.
Hell even on short drag routes the defensive ends drop back and tackle them as soon as they catch it

I used to be able to run for 250 a game without even trying in 25 so I don't necessarily mind the ramp up in difficulty. in the past, I could lay on the turbo button immediately after the handoff and be off to the races. With running being so difficult now, I have to really focus on doing the following:
1) counting the defenders and the blockers when calling a zone run. If you don't audible out of plays when there are more defenders than blockers in the box then it gets blown up. I don't mind this added nuance.
2) I cannot use turbo until my back is through a hole or in the open field. The defenders are coded to almost immediately swam any player in the vicinity that is being controlled with the turbo button.
I have found that using these two tactics, I can run well against the teams that I have a talent advantage against, I will have varying levels of success and failure against teams I'm evenly matched with, and I will still struggle to run the ball consistently with teams that are a big negative mismatch for me.
For me and the way I play (heisman difficulty, no adjustment to sliders), this great.

I agree that having patience with the rb helps. Once you hit the hole hitting turbo or making one move can lead to a decent gain. However I have also found that zone plays are by far the most effective. Counters and sweeps are blown up behind the line 99% of the time.

Where are those? By all accounts this game is great and for me it's a lot better than 25.

For me it depends on who I'm playing. I'm NC State and ran all over Marshall using counters and sweeps. I just tried those same plays against Miami and they were blowing them up.
