I will say playing schools of similar talent level more of the playbook works. I went the rebuild route with Kent State. So I’m almost always at a talent deficiency.

Has anyone noticed the weather effects are more pronounced post update?
I kind of like it. last night I played a game in the rain and for the first time my QB was missing passes constantly and the ball was floating a lot and release seemed much slower. It hasn’t really seemed to have an effect until the recent patch.

I haven’t played since the update, but this sounds horrible. It already affected my QBs and receivers abilities and I got 3 rain home games at Texas tech in one season… where it never rains

The update fixed that. I just went an entire season without a rain game.

This has actually been a thing since the 2000's and 2010's versions. If you hit your sprint, it magnetizes defenders to you. In CFB 26, even if I wait until I'm to/through the gap or have outside leverage, the second I start sprinting, everyone can all of a sudden run a 4.2 on defense
Even against the FCS schools, I'm getting run down by vastly inferior talent and speed.
ETA: I can live with all of the changes and increased difficulties; however the two things that make me want to throw my controller are the consistent random drops by receivers who are wide open and that god forsaken animation where a receiver catches the ball, but because he gets tackled from behind, he animates like he's throwing the ball behind him in mid air.

is this game really as terrible as all the reviews?
Still some frustrating issues with the game, but if you have friends or TD posters who will play with consistently (or if you're in the TD dynasty) it's still a very fun game and worth the purchase.

I know it's been a thing, but it's never really affected my ability to run down the computer's throat regardless of difficulty level. This is the first season where I have felt like it's absolutely mandatory to play this way.
Also, agreed with your point about that WR animation. I never have bothered learning the pass-lead stuff because it's just too much for me to worry about....however I'm starting to try and figure it out now specifically because of that animation. Trying to put my receivers in better position to not get blown up.

Turn on defensive heat seeker assist. You can also increase the window size.
I’ve been able to use man coverage since the patch and I’m able to shut offenses down.

It helped a little bit but I’m still not sure I understand their system for recruiting
I don’t understand it either. I have a dynasty with Alabama and Arkansas State. As Alabama I’m recruiting a DE from Tuscaloosa that I have A+ on all the things he cares about. I’ve been #1 and hard selling for weeks and out of nowhere UGA jumps me and it’s not because of a visit.

I haven't fired up the game with the new update yet, however folks on operationsports are saying the blocking is much improved. If you call a HB toss, the blockers actually block lol. Apparently the run game has seen a massive improvement because of this.

Two things that still drive me nuts,
1. If you throw a short out or the swing route to a rb, it throws behind them every time and they run out of bounds instead of getting up field. It’ll be man coverage and a rb runs a swing against a back side lb so wide open and you throw it. Qb throws it behind and he runs out of bounds for a 2 yard game
2. You’ll get inside leverage on a wheel route. The db will be inside and then rubber band to right on top of the receiver and break up the pass. Even with a high arcing pass it won’t throw to the outside shoulder

I agree with both of those but my QB either throws deep balls 47 yards over the receivers head, out bounds or directly in the chest of the defender there is no in between.
Also, my qb throws behind my wrs on crossing routes or at their feet way too often. I could make those throws but my D1 QB can’t.

That's crazy, who are you playing with? I have an average QB and I had to lower my accuracy to 25 because I thought he was too accurate. I use classic passing if that makes a difference.

lol...that ain't the game fella

It for sure does make a difference. If he's using placement + accuracy and hitting reds and yellow on the throwing meter, then that would probably explain the issue.
I'm 1000% a placement + accuracy advocate and I won't use anything else now, but there is a decent learning curve.

Arkansas St. My QB is Rickie Collins and he’s an 81 overall.
I use placement + accuracy. I play with two teams, Alabama and Arkansas St. I never have issues with Ty Simpson but Collins is erratic against and equal or better team.

The only thing I've heard with that is once you get the hang of it that it gets too easy. I like ratings to factor the most in accuracy instead of user skill so that is why I use old school classic passing. Also I like a clean screen and don't want to see a meter come up every time. Takes away from the immersion.

I may have to try it more.
I fooled around with it in practice mode, but I didn't feel like it was that much different than the revamped passing.
I could still direct the pass where I wanted it to go mostly, just without the reticle and catch radius indicator thingy.

I honestly don't even notice the meter on the screen at this point, but that is fair on the ratings. While the "perfect" window is smaller for more poorly rated QBs, the ratings should make more of a difference. Frankly, I think the QB should need to have a trait that allows them to have a "perfect" window when using P+A. Poorly rated QBs should be locked into only green or worse throws so that there is more variability.
That being said, I find it more realistic that I can actually throw my guys open like a QB would do. And it allows you to throw away from those shitty DB/WR animations that almost always end with your WR dropping the ball after getting hit. So, while it is easier once you get it down, part of that is because you have the ability to throw away from DBs to avoid canned animations.
