How many hours long do we think "Story of DEATH STRANDING 1" is going to be?

After the preorder trailer release I was asked by someone what the first one was about. I started and then 5 seconds later gave up because I didn’t know how to explain without sounding like a lunatic

I have recommended the game to so many people and I don't think any have finished it.
The story is incredible but it is so hard to get into.

Just tell them to watch this 90min video and it will all be explained

The story and writing are absolute nonsense

I can’t even explain to people why I liked Death Stranding, but I definitely did. DS2 looks even zanier than the first one

the environments are incredible. hell there are so many iconic moments where the music kicks in that really make you feel like you accomplished something epic by somehow making it to the next city through all the shite and timefall you encounter in the wilderness.
keep on keeping on

Yep even looking at it now it’s better than I thought when I played it, one of the best games last gen and it only made improvements

quote:I think once you get out of Episode 3/4 the pace picks up appropriately. I also think people assume the mechanics are going to get less enjoyable (particularly given the notion of being a courier isn’t the most thrilling to begin with) when it doesn’t really get all that more complicated from hour ~10 on. In the early on you don’t even know you’re going to get to shoot things
The story is incredible but it is so hard to get into.
But the journey is so unbelievably worth the “Come on ***…one more delivery” and “My bridge to the future”

Kojima confirmed music from Low Roar's new album will be in DS2!
IGN - Japan article (not in English)
quote:
Ryan Karaziya, the frontman of Low Roar, who collaborated on the previous album, has passed away, so when I was thinking about what to do with the song for "2", I offered it to Woodkid and he readily agreed. However, I received an email from Ryan's family saying that there was an unreleased song. I was asked to mix it up and use it. As expected, I'm not Ryan, so I declined at first. However, last year, I was sent an album with mixed songs, so I used some of them.

Sony officially released a video of "the story so far" which recaps DS1. Shockingly, the video is only 6 min long!

Pre-load is available now. I'm downloading the Digital Deluxe Edition and it's checking in at 91.476GB.

I just completed the DS yesterday.
I enjoyed the story but I hated the back and forth back and forth back and forth. I wasn't a fan of the folks who didn't want to join so you couldn't use the chiral network to change their minds.
Even grinding 5 stars from a lot of locations, I don't feel like it was worth it. I hope DS2 makes it a little more worthwhile. None of the QOL items really made me feel like I was getting in control of things.
I also felt that at the end, they fraudulently made you wobble more than you should. I had 200 spare kg with all terrain legs and yet mama was harder to carry than Bridges at the start of the game. Sure the terrain was worse but i had almost triple the carrying capacity, plus the legs plus a high level and mama was bouncing all over the place.
I liked the information at the end of the game but a 3 hour exposition dump during credits was an odd choice.
I think pacing was a mess. Big boss fight, another dumb melee boss fight followed by one more boss fight. Followed by multiple forced BT boss fights followed by one last pain in the arse GIANT BT boss fight with fragile cargo. Pacing just felt off at the end then you get the massive exposition dump.
I know this all sounds like a big pile of negatives but I still for the most part enjoyed the game but I can understand why a lot of people were turned off. As I said, I hope grinding has a bit of a better payoff. The trailer makes the game look even more stunning the DS. Score and soundtrack were great. I just hope some aspects have a bit more fine tuning but from the early reviews I don't think Kojima did anything to make the new game less tedious.
Sidenote. I'm playing Metro 2033 and I keep hitting RB to highlight objects. lol.

I'm sure you folks talked about it when the game came out but that was some serious acting on display when Diehardman lost his shite when he confessed to Sam.
