bloodhound fang does seem to make the game (relatively) easy mode.

Same dude that was telling me to git gud and be better for taking a bit to solo Margot but he spammed whatever summons he had to beat him lol

I did my entire first playthrough with just dual longswords and no summons or spirit ashes
I'd wager I had more deaths to Margit than any other boss

i read the beginning of this thread during downtime and see you were determined to beat Margit as a naked wretch with unupgraded weapons
i have a 9 month old at home (born around the time of elden ring's release, hence my absence itt until recently) so i dont have time to attempt to Carson these bosses

I'm in the camp that there's no shame in using OP weapons, summons, etc. because I think everyone should play the game however they want, I'm just making a joke because you said you weren't using OP weapons/summons and then went on to list extremely OP weapons/summons.

Yep, I'm not here to defend my actions or statements lol.
However, I think what I meant was the Blasphemous Blade skill was so beyond overpowered (for instance, in playthrough 1 I beat Malenia on the 2nd try). Just standing back and spamming L2 over and over while the summons attracted all the attention certainly got the job done but wasn't all that rewarding.
Yeah, the two weapons I used this time are also very powerful but you at least have to get up and melee the enemies, even with L2. It was still a harder playthrough than before and more rewarding. I'm not here to run around the world naked with a dagger and no shield lol

I'm not sure, but I know the one you get from Placidusax (not spell-checking this...DWI) got nerfed pretty hard.
Not long ago they all received a pretty huge buff to the hyper armor you get when casting, though, so they should be pretty good.
