I find it easier than Elden Ring. I had to out that one down because I didn't have the time to learn how to dodge everything efficiently. That being said, I feel like it is off. Another poster said it was tight so that may just be it

I don’t wanna really wanna talk main story bosses here but spawn of Bogdo isn’t that bad. It’s the same boss from fallen order with a one hit kill move added. I suspect many players are following the advice of some people to heavily spec into two stances and only ever use those two and that’s just simply not the optimal way to play. My 100% run I have dual wield and blaster maxed but run around mostly with dual wield and double blade or cross guard depending on the types of enemies in the area. Spacing into lightsaber skill trees should be your last priority the resilience and force trees should be taken care of first, I don’t have a single point in double blade and wreck with it all the time. I say all this because people are probably trying to take the boss with something like dual wield and double blade. The probably optimal way would be normal saber and cross guard but I used dual wield cross guard.

I will say he is likely more difficult than all but perhaps 2 and maybe 3 max pushing it main story bosses.

The single use press of O to step dodge and gain force is new to this game and wasn’t in fallen order. You should be trying to use that whenever possible and not parrying and parrying was all you did in fallen order.

Partying was what got me through the rancor fight so I gave it a go. I seemed to have more succes with the blaster stance. I'll take the cheap long distance shots at him to do what it can. I'm definitely whiffing on the timing of his charge attack as it takes a second to get going

but spawn of Bogdo

i dont know if I was under leveled but he gave me a run for it. I had just gotten back from the second world so still relatively new into it. he would kill me with 2 regular hits.

the reward for killing him was LOL. I feel like it was a troll on dev's part.

Anything cosmetic is a waste of time. I loved the holotactic game but most everything leads to some cosmetic that doesn't do a thing for me. I suppose calls clothes and hair matters to some since you can see it but I certainly don't see the parts of the lightsaber to make it matter to me

I finished the lucrehulk (I don't think that's a spoiler) area, and that was quite the difficulty spike

I think I killed more enemies in that one area than the entire rest of the game up to that point.

The jedi test in Jeddha jumping through the green screens may be one of the most frustrating things I've experienced in a game

There's a force tear (I think) later in the game where you're jumping on zip lines next to each other, reversing direction, jumping over sparks that kill you, and jumping through green screens - all at the same time. Died at least 30 times before getting it.

Yeah I have the gold trophy for all force tears that one is def the worst. I ended up watching a full youtube video of it so I could anticipate parts ahead and get it done.

Im not implying you cant get through the game any certain way you want to play it relative to difficulty level and your tolerance for frustration. I have beaten the game on the two highest levels of difficulties and just simply stating the most optimal way of playing the game, especially on grandmaster where you are switching up stances all of the time and you dont have to spend a single skill point into any of them if you dont wish to because

1. There isnt a damage boost anywhere they all consist of just the moveset for that particular stance
2. Unless you are going to grind out skill points like a madman one run through the game even 100% getting all items likely wont fill your tree unless you run around with the wisdom perk or gambler perk then you will only be about 80%
3. The force is way better in this game and the life and force trees are just much more important

The only skill worth absolutely having in any stance you will use often is split reflection which is one of the many reasons I like dual wielding it is the second skill you can get.

Your damage output, defensive posture, block meter, etc is all determined by your stance choice and nothing within the skill tree of that stance. The things that buff it for all stances are in the force and resilience trees.

The perk system however can let your tailor different stances to do more damage or be more effective, such as marksmanship increasing blaster damage in blaster stance.

As I get further into the game, I Feel like the enemy placement is kinda cheap. In Fallen Order, I distinctly remember there being areas in the final map of the game where they would just send enemy after enemy at you, but in this game, you go down some random hallway and there's like 6 droids, and 4 raiders complete with stagger bars where there's no discernable reason for them to all be bunched into such a tiny area other than to say frick you to the player.

Man…. I’m loving the game and probably have about an hour or so of story left but my game (series X) has frozen/crashed 3 times tonight. Damn

I got to the end of one of those Jedi puzzles and it froze right before I completed it

The reward for doing all the jedi puzzles sounds good in theory but in reality it will amount to you just amassing skill points.

Well idk i guess it depends how late in the game you receive it and how thorough you were hunting down essences, because they do have a hard cap and after that each one just gives xp.

Since two people downvoted this as is to be expected for the casuals, I will elaborate in as vague a way possible.

State fan, when would you consider "waves" of enemies begin coming at you because that could be a vague term. In my opinion you couldnt make that claim until one instance in the rescue mission with Bode and then then entire mission infiltration empire intelligence could fall into this but you are also given the opportunity if you choose to take it to absolutely mow them all down without effort.

And if you consider things other thsn this waves this is why ive been saying in this thread focus on the force. Perfect dodge is better than perfect parry because it gives back force. Pair that strat with the shatter perk which does more stamina damage and learn to use your bigger force abilities to bring giant groups together for an aeo or confuse can be insanely useful. Not gonna speak about the force powers new to this game but if you have a good set up perk wise and are skill treed well you can absolutely decimate groups of 5-6 at once with those 2.

Also learn to splice b2 droids from bounty rewards and you csn do it with BDs electric dart before battle even starts. Or better yet if your past the infiltration mission I think thats where you get the ability to splice the double baton droids electric dart them if they are there confuse one or two if you have the skill for a second thats just one basic way to handle 5-6 enemies on grandmaster.

You can also block an attack from any direction, but not parry one. This is why stances are so important on high difficulty if i am playing dual wield which i do run as my main i have to animation cancel anything already using the weapon with lowest defensive posture and block bar. You have to absolutely know what you are doing and carry either double blade or counterstance with you for high defense situations.

Also I have no idea if you are doing this or not but if you are playing like me with a high offense low defense main load out use your dash from merrins charm like crazy never remain in the same place for more than a second or two. In fact normal single blades greatest strength by far is to be able to do just that in the air and couple with an attack which you could pair with one of the new force abilities on the way down while switching to counterstance to charge a cleave.

Despite my better judgement, I started a replay of Fallen Order before I sit down and play Survivor and man…those Zeffo sections are just rough but after that the game is just awesome. It’s really just Zeffo that kills it early on. Just a nightmare to traverse and navigate without a ton of cool shite to make it worthwhile
