Play on death march.

It's slower going but the game is much more fun I find. I'm really enjoying it this go round.

Not everyone like to play on one hit and dead difficulty.

Do it dude. It sucks arse at first but once you get the mechanics down the trash mobs and shite quit being a problem. I got about 6 hours in before I quit worrying about every single enemy. If you're not in it only for the story, you're kind of cheating yourself not playing on death march IMO.

Nothing wrong with playing for the story though. I just got bored with that pretty quick and never made it out of Velen.

See, I'm the opposite. I played it for the story. So I left it on normal difficulty, got the spinning attack perk, and turned Geralt into a spinning chainsaw of doom

I'm enjoying deathmarch farrrr more. It's not ridiculously hard or anything. Beat the first one of the wild hunt's goons you get to fight last night a few levels lower than suggested. I beat him and the golem on the first try easily, it just took a little while. Occasionally I screw up and get trashed though. Some damn swamp monster thing mud stomped me 2 or 3 times before I figured it out.

With quen I am invincible

I started this game two years ago and just made it to Skellige. It’s almost overwhelming with the stuff to do.

I got em all. If it isn't on land. It is worthless at that stage of the game.

yea, every encounter on death march is meaningful.

gives a sense of satisfaction and makes exploring a lot more exciting.

even if its just those water zombies (I forget their name, black something) guarding a single chest.

Or, rounding a tree in the woods wandering around and getting skull dragged by a griffin 10 levels above you

Or getting one shotted off your horse by a crossbow as you "oh frick oh frick oh frick" out of some camp full of pissed off medieval special ops looking frickers

The game is terrible on the easy mode and spectacular on death march.

I bought the game awhile back and haven’t played it yet. Been thinking of starting a Death March playthrough. Not sure how much I want to torture myself yet.

Playing one now. They have one of the gold abilities you can unlock that makes food/drink you eat replenish your health for 20 minutes

Kinda game breaking.... Buttttt oh well.

You still lose massive amounts of health each Hit, but definitely helps not burn through all your potions and food. Just dance around for 30 seconds before resuming the fight at full health

Here are a few screenshots from my DeathMarch playthrough a while back. I've never played the DLC but I have them bought and ready to go.

I started death march and made it to skellige before i dropped it to sword and story. Death march is so fun but it was just taking entirely too long. You HAVE to do side quests and level up, find new potions/abilities etc while advanving the story. I just dont have the time to play through that way and i want to see the ending.

Going from death march to sword and story makes the game absurdly easy.
