Well, I farmed that early game area from the tower bonfire to the great wall and back and forth. I owned the Lotheric Knight after realizing kicking him when he's defending basically gives you a free crit. That and thrusting with the Uchi make quick work of him. I farmed that area all last knight and I ended up with his shield (100% damage protection) his armor, crossbow, gauntlets and sword. I would keep at him to get his helmet, but as a dex/str build I don't want to dip into fat rolling and his armor and shield are badass for this early on.
I had to invest into STR up to 18 to use his shield, but a 100% damage shield this early is worth it. I also infused the uchi with a raw gem to bring it to 164 DMG right now. I will keep it raw for a while and focus on VIG/STR leveling for a while before going back to DEX.

Are you going to use the full set and is it Lotharic Knight armor? I want to go this route as well but I've yet to get the trousers and helmet. The last thing I did last knight was pump levels into STR so I could wield the amazing Lotharic Shield. But at my Vigor I can only use shield + chest armor without going over 70% load. I'm guessing I need to dump a few more levels into VIG to use the full set, I just hate pumping lots of souls into basically just an equipment load increase

Last night I flipped the power switch on my surge protector with my toe, and my whole setup turned off.
When i turned it back on my DS3 file was corrupted
Bright side: I took today off work, just to play DS3. I'll be playing areas I've already done .... But it'll go quicker this time. And I'll know which areas are worth skipping and stuff

Having a lot of trouble with the Curse Rotted Tree. Playing as a knight with a +2 Raw bastard sword. I'm too slow to really move around the tree and get in a few hits. And one or two hits breaks my guard and leaves me open to be crushed.
Think I'll have to come up with a new strategy on him.
Stupid question: Embers, these are equivalent to humanity? Haven't used any yet as the one time I was human I got invaded and kicked the crap out of some guy but I was so weak I couldn't kill him and he finally outlasted me.

Yeah I suggest getting a faster sword. I would focus on just pounding his crotch bulbs until they bust and he breaks the floor. It's a lot easier below when you have no other enemies to worry about.
Embers are basically humanity, yes. When you use them you have more HP, and are able to summon others into your world.

That's the plan. But so far, I've killed 6-7 of them and have only received the helmet. My luck rating sucks! So I'm still in my starting Knight armor.
It took some farming to get my vigor to a point where I could maintain a good roll with my armor + Uchi, but that's where I'm at now. Infused the Uchi+2 w/ Raw for 177 damage. Tried to figure out the Uchi parry, but I need to practice that before trying it with these knights. They are still pretty easy just rolling forward during their second swing.
That's the section I quit at. Red eyed Lothric wrecked me 3 times before I called it a knight (pun intended). I need to beat him and the boss to finish this area. Made the dragon fly away and set the prisoner free to.

I am a DEX build with nothing extra put into Luck. I killed that one Knight 20-30 times last night below the Tower bonfire bc he is RIGHT there and easy to reset and I got everything except for the helmet and leggings.

Im going home at 11 for my lunch break and I'm gonna go to the red eyed guy, I was just farming last night.
I also found out if you need 2 Estus sips, you can take 2 sips FAST by tapping it twice, it's amazing how fast you can take 2 sips.

I can get him to break the floor easily. Once down there is when I really can't get him anymore. Too slow to attack his white hand when its still.

You can also switch to the first item in your inventory very quickly by holding down the dpad button.

When you pull up the menu to select Inventory, equipment, options there is another thing below it called tool belt.
