Couple of things I just learned. You can be underweight and overweight. Guess I need to eat more. Your beard stops growing without hair tonic at a certain point.

Eat a bowl of stew each time you are at camp, should fix that.

What guns do y'all have? I think I only have the sawed off shotgun, double barrel shotgun, and carbine repeater, and obviously the original pistol. Have y'all bought more or found more weapons?

I got a Springfield rifle only because I saved that random encounter who got bit by a snake. He was outside the gunsmith in Valentine afterwards and said I could get something for free in there.
Once I saw the Springfield, I had to get it to go and get the revenge on the only other thing that killed me besides myself, that damn monster bear

Picked up a gold Mauser, from an old gunslinger, on a side mission.

Pump shotgun is the best in my opinion.

I run mainly the springfield as my rifle, that gun is just so good. Then run bow on the shoulder and I have two of the revolvers you get from the gunslinger book side mission. They are really cool looking and really good to dual wield together.
Whoever asked it, I haven't found much reason to keeping the camp funds high, except for it helps not keep too much money on you in case you get caught or killed or something. Does help to have funds so you can replenish your supplies for pretty cheap.

You get the fast travel map from the ledger in camp, right?

Yea, it is one of the upgrades towards the end of the ledger book.

I always see horses running wild. Is it a good idea to capture them?
Posted on 10/30/18 at 8:53 am to YumYum Sauce
You can capture them, and then sell them to the stable for some extra cash.

I love St. Denis, I spend time just walking around it and taking it in. Whoever designed it did an excellent job.

I decided to just roam the wilds last night and came across an old prospector while he was panning for gold. Sure enough, he found a gold nugget, so naturally my only choice was to kill him and rob his corpse. Also came across an abandoned village in the middle of the swamp which was creepy as hell. There was an old beat up barn with the words 'PLAGUE KEEP OUT' written on it, and when I looked at the graveyard tombstones, all of them were for people that had been murdered
I think I'm just gonna start picking a direction and taking off into the wild, but damn I can't resist those yellow story icons.

There are two legendary wild horses you can capture that are worth it. There is a white arabian up around lake isabella that is probably the fastest horse in the game right now. Definitely worth getting.
Otherwise, you can capture and sell them.

Based on the video output of Xbox One X, the output is clearly derived from the SDR image and is not actually rendered with any kind of high dynamic range. Yes, we can hit a max 500 nits, but this is with the HDR calibration ramped up to the max, artificially boosting peak brightness from what is likely a 100 nit source image. The game's recommended 100 setting for LCD screens would see all of our comparison shots on this page present in a completely monochrome manner, signifying an image that is, effectively, an SDR image.
Red Dead Redemption 2 does not have actual HDR support. It's converting a regular SDR image to HDR brightness. All that means is things are overly bright for no reason. Their artists did not actually design the scene to have more realistic darks and brights and that wider range of colors and brightness that could be actually represented on an HDR display.
The game was not designed with HDR displays in mind. That's why it doesn't look right. Your HDR display is showing a regular SDR image.
HDR displays only work if the source has that actual wide range of colors and brightness. If the source video or game doesn't have it, then there's no high dynamic range to display in the first place. All you're getting then is a normal display that can get really bright.

It has been my favorite new setting so far in the game. Really gorgeous. Feels like you're in old new orleans or something. They knocked it out of the park.

When you capture a horse to sell in Valentine, is it best to have fast travel, so you can travel back to camp and retrieve your horse? Or does your horse follow you?
Posted on 10/30/18 at 9:14 am to GoCrazyAuburn
I was riding back into camp with someone on the back of my horse. I tried to go up a steep hill, so my horse fell backwards and we both fell off. Everyone (horse included) proceeded to slide down the hill. One of us hit a boulder on the way down that dislodged and then slid down and hit my horse in the head, mortally wounding it.
