It just means you can't upgrade the CPU in the future

Price parts on pc parts picker. Do some searches for pricing if a part doesn't have a price. You will get a ball park on what it would cost.
I've been in I.T. for 18 years and built 5 pc's for myself or family. I buy custom pre-builts now. Its not fun anymore. It's work after I get off work.
The PC I just ordered was $2310 from Ibuypower. I priced all the parts and it came out right at $2000. So, it cost an extra 300 bucks. It's worth it to me.

If you want to go the pre-built route, I recommend Xidax if money isn't the issue. They are more expensive than other builders, but they are top notch and have a lifetime hardware warranty on desktops.
Myself, my son in law, and my last place of employment have purchased pc's from them. All have been immaculately done. One of the PC's at work did have a graphics card go out. I got with xidax and they had me ship them the card. They sent back a new one.

Also that build you posted has 4300 mhz ram.... go to a custom builder site and customize it. If your getting the I9 and a 4090 get at 6000 mhz ram.
Also check the read/write on the ssd. I got the Samsung 990 pro. It's fast as hell.
The ready to ship pc's often skimp on a few parts to keep the price down. Pick the parts yourself. They make it simple and easy on their websites.

AMD Ryzen 8000 “Zen 5” Specs and Release Date
quote:
The Zen 5 core has been upgraded on all fronts, including the frontend, backend, memory sub-system, and cache. The L1I data cache, an input cache that sits next to the decoder and branch predictor, has been increased from 32KB to 48KB 12-way. Similarly, the Data Translation Buffer (DTLB) and the PWC have also been expanded for faster address translation.
From earlier leaks, we know that AMD’s Ryzen 8000 processors will use an upgraded core interconnect known as Ladder L3 Fabric (originally leaked by AdoredTV). This is related to the 3rd Gen Infinity Fabric, which will act as the die interconnects for AMD’s next generation of chiplet products.
The Ryzen 8000 CPUs are expected to land in mid to late 2024. You can expect a summer or fall launch.

i made a build on part picker. had everything set how i wanted. decided to just order the last one i linked to get 3 year insurance for 4260 after tax. without insurance it was same price as the one i built, but the build had double 990 pros ( i have one in current rig and love its speed)
i may have second thoughts but i will be happier with the insurance and not having to worry about hoping everything fits perfectly or wiring.

Man I’m really eyeing one of these OLED 1440p 240hz monitors but I know I don’t really need it
But I want it pretty bad haha
Currently have two LG IPS monitors, 4k 144hz and 1440 144hz..all I really play is FPS games so getting up closer to 200fps in Halo and COD sounds appealing

I didn't last long looking at the OLED's, that same LG panel with just 250nit SDR and 250nit HDR brightness was a no go instantly.
Hopefully within another year or two the newer G3 panels will be available for monitors. As it is now they're like first Gen oled with how poor their brightness levels are and lack of HDR performance with well short of even HDR400.
Not what I was looking for.

damn not bad, i got an Acer Nitro 27" WQHD 2560 x 1440 / 1ms / 240hz on sale for like 300 about two months ago
I have two of the same monitors but with 144hz instead of 240hz on the sides and the 240hz is my main gaming monitor. I eventually wanna go balls deep and get a 4k monitor but thats way down the line.

Yeah I didn't want 4K at this time either but wanted great HDR performance so it was either QD MiniLED or OLED.

I can’t vouch for oled, but if you ever upgrade, you should definitely look into ultrawide… it’s a game changer and makes a huge impact for immersion.

Just got it mounted to the wall and booted up, holy shite the brightness difference.
Edge lit 5 year old Samsung Odyssey QHD is of course no contest. Wild difference for what was still a good panel years ago. First time seeing QD MiniLED in person too.
Time to test the response in CS2 and get calibration locked in. I doubt 144Hz -> 180Hz will feel any different.

It's been about a decade since I built a pc. I'm pretty much looking for something pre-built in the 2k-2.5k range.
Any suggestions?
I dont play anything competitively, just looking for a nice upgrade so I can play things modern fps games like Cyberpunk without having to downgrade much in the graphics department. Also may go with an ultra wide monitor.

Is building an option at all? Or do you have anyone you can throw $100 or something at to do it for you? Pre-build are notoriously bad about skimping on essential parts like mobo and PSU.
My last two builds I bought everything and found someone local to do the actual build for me. Worked out great both times.
