RTJ is a great trip. If you can get one of the Oster golf houses on site that makes it even better. It'd be perfect for a bachelor party imo

I stayed in Chattanooga for mine. Played Sweetens Cove and Moccasin Bend. Sweetens reputation speaks for itself. Mocc isn’t anything special but it’s fun. Nooga is a fun town, I’d recommend.

RTJ, look up the Oster Houses near the Capitol Hill Courses. Cambrian Ridge isnt too far away either

Some good suggestions ITT.
I’ve played most of the driveable places mentioned. Depends on your priorities.
If you like to gamble , want the club scene, and are willing to spend some cash, then the only answer is stay at Beau Rivage and play Fallen Oak. Don’t mess with the other courses in Biloxi if you are staying at the Beau as none of them hold a candle to FO in terms of quality of golf or overall experience.
Orange Beach is great as well. Don’t waste your time with craft farms. Play kiva for sure. Then choose one of rock creek or peninsula. Only issue is driving around after a day of drinking on the course which we generally try to avoid. If you stay on property at kiva it’s nice, but it’s a hike to the “clubs” in orange beach .
Capitol Hill is great and the houses on property are nice. Not much of a “bachelor party” vibe if that’s what you want though.
Old waverly is similar to Capitol Hill with better golf and slightly shorter drive (if memory serves)
Houston is a good option, but I can’t comment on the courses there.
I would vote Fallen Oak if your group has the requisite cash.

It might be a little more travel than you want but you will have one hell of a time. Scottsdale, AZ - stay at We-Ko-Pa Casino and play and gamble. Stay around Old Towne Scotssdale for nightlife. Go to the waste management phoenix open.

Yea hopefully we catch some dry days in a couple of weeks.....trying to play somewhere on the way back home (Brandon, MS). Don’t want to play Ross Bridge. Was looking at Ballentrae in Pelham or something else. Any suggestions?

Ballantrae and Timberline are both good.

emailed a place called the Palace Casino Resort in Biloxi about Golf/Hotel Packages they offer. Not a bad idea to play a couple rounds there and hit up the casino at night.
I’ve done this package before. The Preserve is associated with them and is a great course.
PS tell your best man to get off his arse and get to planning!

"we want to stay close and not really travel"
Response: take a 3 hour flight and to a place that's going to be like $3k/person

Preserve in great shape and is more fun than Fallen Oak

Has anybody mentioned Monterey or Bandon yet?

I live in BR, and trying to keep travel minimal for my friends.
Biloxi.
Stay at the beau and play fallen oak, shell landing, whatever other courses you guys want. Can go to the golden nugget for the pool and always have the sportsbook plus plenty of dinner options.

May as well throw Pinehurst in the conversation too.

I would probably do Wisconsin! Packer game, whistling straits, cool weather,
Great beer, cheese curds!

I actually had my Bachelor’s Party at Pinehurst in July. Highly recommend it if it isn’t too far for a group to drive to.

Scottsdale is the correct answer

Sounds like this is what we’re doing soon, I think march. Any tips or recommendations?

Vegas Baby!
Several of the Indians casinos courses just outside town are first rate by guys like Pete Dye; always in great shape and low traffic, affordable greens fees.
Your guests can fly there from anywhere on the cheap, and the nightlife is off the hook!
The Spearmint Rhino is a gentleman's club the size of an indoor soccer stadium. The talent is as good as it gets.

We rented a house and grilled out, did a shrimp boil so that was nice. We played a course on Thursday called Seven Lakes since we didn’t have the full group. It was $50 for 18 and included lunch and a beer so not a horrible appetizer. Played Pinehurst No 1 on Friday, Pine Needles on Saturday, and the Cradle on Sunday. It was a great trip for our group!
