If there where a three person scramble located within a couple of hours from where you live with a chance to win $100k. Would you be interested in playing? Say the entry fee would be $5k a team?

I won’t even have to hit any tee shots. Might carry an extra wedge since I won’t need a driver.

Unfortunately, I’m having open heart surgery in February so I’ll be out of golf for a bit.
Pray for my family and I in this time.
My surgeon made a hole in one with me earlier this year.
Going to do 3 bypasses and an aortic valve replacement.

He says I’m going to feel so much better after I’m healed up from the surgery.
I’m on a 9 hole limit for walking for now. I can ride 18. Not allowed to get pissed off.
Guys take turns swearing for me now after a bad hole.

I enjoy a scramble. Especially when guys are hitting bombs!

That’s a lot of scratch for a scramble. I’d probably play, but it would have to be straight up golf. None of the normal charity scramble shenanigans. Mulligans, power drives, throws, etc.

Prayers sent. Hope everything goes well and you’re back to swinging the sticks in no time.

My buddy had the same surgery and he’s still a damn good golfer. FWIW.

This. Multiple teams per hole and monitors with each group. That’s the only way to prevent the usual BS.

This would be where my mind is. I would need at least two groups each hole playing together, no bullshite stuff in the game. While 5k is a lot, you are going to get a lot of mini tour players in that and you better be a scratch golfer at worst to enter it.

Absolutely, but the pairings would have to be by random draw, and there would need to be official score keepers/updaters at each of the greens, similar to the state am

3 person scramble with 5000 entry fee....GDFOH...stupid idea....let da pros go play with the mini tour/ web.com/pga tour players.. now you want to play an open Calcutta( meaning professional gamblers are allowed to bid on players)tournament which we used to play in the 70's-80's during 1st big oil boom on the East Texas BBQ Circuit ...in '80 Bob Tway played beat fellow OSU teammate Willie Wood with a putt on 36th hole at the 9 hole course in Center, Tx that won someone $200,000.. Bob made a cool 20,000 that weekend! No entry fee open calcutta...you want action you bid on yourself....
