Thanks.
The dominos are falling faster than I expected...if I expected them at all.

Why? Who wouldn't leave for the money that is being thrown around? The PGA can't even come close to compete with that. I think the PGA needs to be patient and let this thing play out. Let the players get their huge paydays and stay the course and hope and pray that the Saudis get tired of losing money.

I thought the threat of suspension from the Tour would carry more weight.
It's the classic bird in the hand, two in the bush scenario. Money is great; more is better, but if you have to walk away from the Tour to get the Saudi money...which might go away at some point, you put your future at risk.

I can’t imagine Henrik is going to throw away his Ryder Cup captaincy, but oh well I guess
I hate war, and war in the Middle East is useless. However, if LIV fricks with the Ryder cup and makes it a watered down event nobody cares about, I am ready to take up arms and head overseas for an epic fight and storm the beaches of Dubai

We can add the NLU figs to media members menstruating over players leaving for guaranteed money and less work

They can still play the majors and they will make more in two years on LIV than they would make in their entire careers on the PGA.
I would bolt too if I was a player. No more grinding to make cuts and stay sharp means less practice time.

Mingo, you have so little self reflection it’s saddening.
Me, I know I’m disliked. But you manage to be hated more than me here and without a tad of acknowledgement

Only if you are wildly financially incompetent. These guys are going to make more money in 1 year than I will make in my entire life.
DJ could fulfill his contract with LIV and never play again. His grandkids will die rich people.
Posted on 6/8/22 at 9:43 am to RedHawk
The risk/reward is there to leave for the guaranteed money. Worst case scenario is the league implodes. The PGA isn't going to deny them returning if their competition is gone. Paper tigers.

If someone watches a LIV event, does is disqualify them from the lottery for Masters Tickets? Asking for a friend. ??

DJ could quit golf today and his grandkids grandkids will be rich. He doesn't need the LIV money. He's probably worth over a hundred million on his own, has a FIL worth several hundred million, and his wife makes bank on social media for good measure. His family will be fine regardless.
IMO, DJ just doesn't want to grind or have to play well to make money. He wants to play as little as possible and still make a ton of money so he can party with his wife whenever he wants. LIV provides him with a shitload of money to play a handful of events without anything tied to his performance. The "best for my family" angle is such bullshite. His family is already set with multi-generational frick you money

he stated in the LIV presser that he doesn't want to play golf is whole life. if the LIV fails, he'll be back on Tour then retire when he pleases.
he just needs to win the US Open to watch the glorious melt from the mouth breathers

The PGA simps that think these people are ruining their careers when there is 0% the PGA doesn't welcome them all back with open arms if this league fails.
