If you live in the neighborhood, initiation is usually around 10k. Junior exec membership is $605/month, no f&b minimum.

What a ridiculous fee structure. I pay $1050 per month for my dues but no range fees, no cart fees, etc. the only thing we have is annual Golf Assoction dues which covers handicap and a few smaller events.
That structure at Pine Forrest is so chinchy and makes the club look cheap. Just charge the dues and stop nickel and dimming your membership

Been out at Bluejack a few times and just curious where it stands compared to these 2? I really like the set-up at Bluejack. It's not a super difficult course but has almost like a carnival type atmosphere out there. Very laid back which I kinda doubt HCC and ROCC could be labeled as.

Haven't yet made it out to bluejack. From people i know with my spare change than me, i've heard great things. A guy that would know told me it is his favorite day of golf.
From what i understand, bluejack and lochinvar are more golf clubs for golfers.
HCC and ROCC are absolutely stuffy old money WASPs, ROCC probably more so. They have been in a never ending pissing match on who has the nicest club house, tennis courts, pool and other amenities.
With that said, both ROCC and HCC have put millions into the courses. They did a ton of work like 10 years ago, then both used Harvey as an excuse to dump more money into them. They both tail along Buffalo bayou which makes for rare undulation for Houston courses, landfills aside.

I have been out there twice, both vendor related. The member invite was from one of the founding members so not sure if they caught a break on initiation or not? However, I did in fact drop everything to go play when I got the invite. It's an experience to say the least.

My boss is a member at Bluejack. I believe when he joined a couple of years ago the initiation was around $95k. It has gone up since then.

Your structure would be the exception, not the rule.

BJN was 90k to join in the earlier years. If you bought land then they forgave 30k of the initiation. The prices have increased over the years and now I belive the last time I enquired it is 115k. It is open around 10.5 months a year and the dues are approx 15k annually do at the beginning of the year.
Great fun place but recently have had some struggles with greens and cut back quite a few trees to allow for better growth of grass.
I have played in member/guest so I have seen the best of the club would definitely be proud to be an everyday member as well. Its just too far to be really practical as a day in and day out club unless you have a second home or villa out there.

the greens were awful last time I played it - I'm not buying the shade being the main culprit

Haven't play Bluejack, but I loved it when it was Blaketree National.

For sure, the vendor I played with has stupid money so the cost doesn't really deter much him not living that close to Magnolia. It's kinda a status thing which is probably like being a member at ROCC. He lives in the Woodlands so not a bad drive but then again, most leave that course kinda torqued up if you know what I mean. I actually asked him about that and he says that he has access to one of those villas if he needs it.
