I also think Trevino has a quote along the lines that if you want to play on any of the major pro tours you need to play two balls, from over 7200 yards, and still shoot a 65 with your worst ball in order to be out there.

Why do shitty golfers love to act as gatekeepers for who can and cant be a pro someday? Just cause you cant go out and become a plus handicap no matter how much you practice doesnt mean someone else cant. Guy is giving himself 12 years to PLAY in a PGA event, not win one. Who cares if he can actually do it or not? Let the guy try. He doesnt have anything else going on and that energy is better served doing this than being a druggy like he's been up to for the past few years.

Because low IQ people like you have no clue how good PGA tour players are, it would be like you saying "I'm going to dedicate my life to Baseball and be one of the Red Sox starting pitchers in 10 years.

Its retarded and deserves to be addressed as such.

It’s really not at all. Especially considering multiple people have picked up golf later in life and made it to the tour in less than 10 years.

Not sure why golfers seem to want to make it out to be the hardest sport in the history of the world but there are a lot of people who get to the pinnacle of individual sports in less than 12 years of being a professional. It’s not like he’s never golfed before.

Maybe it’s ridiculous for you, 9-5 worker Tigerdroppings guy, to say that you can make the tour in 12 years of playing a round after work occasionally, but it’s really not that crazy for a guy who A. has a baseline of winning long drive contests, being a scratch golfer, and an insane athletic pedigree and B. does nothing else but golf all day long for 12 years.

I get that he’s a frickup and all and I don’t think he realistically has a 1% chance of sticking this out for 12 years, but if fat unathletic drunk Patrick Reid can do it, it’s not “retarded” to say that Johnny Manziel can hypothetically do it if he got with the best coach and played all day every day for a decade. Will he? No, absolutely not, but it’s not retarded to say it’s possible considering he’s an athletic freak of nature and has some of the best hand eye coordination and kinesthetic awareness in the world

He's probably not going to make it, but we aren't talking about some 30 year old jabroni coming off the couch.

There's been multiple baseball players that came back and were high NFL draft picks at quarterback (weeden, kanell, etc). There's also been other guys that played like 1 year of high school football that had decade long careers. JM is clearly an elite athlete, he's got a chance, it's small but possible.

Yeah, I'm not putting any greenbacks on JFF making a tour event, but I'm also not getting why the self-appointed brain trust is acting like this is entirely ridiculous. Wolff, Morikawa, Im, Neimann and others are under 25 and on tour. Most were on tour by age 21. Which means they hadn't played the game at a high level for much longer than 12 years. Those are the elite talents with wins on tour, so they are highly gifted.

Again, it's not likely, but I don't think preposterous. What probably is preposterous is the notion that JFF has the drive to put in the kind of work it would take and stick to anything for 12 years.

some of you guys must not remember the great Babe Didrikson Zaharias who won olympic medals in javelin, hurdles, and high jump and was one of the greatest female golfers of all time.

Is it likely that JM makes it as a pro golfer, of course not. But its not impossible.

At elite levels it pretty much is

You need to be a low digit single handicap golfer who's played with pros to even begin to appreciate how good elite players are. Obviously this is so e you aren't capable of even beginning to comprehend so we will leave it at that.

It reminds me of a good Harvey Penick story, a mid 40's scratch player who was a former amateur champion asked him if he practiced for 5 years would he have a shot on the senior tour, he pointed down the range and said, "see that guy he's also practicing for the senior tour" it was Tom Kite.

Golf is at least 50% God given talent, no amount of practice can make someone an elite player that isn't born with it.

No its not, the pool of players that could make it in professional golf is exponentially larger than the pool of people that can play in the NBA

I'm not wasting brain cells arguing someone someone with a negative IQ

You're talking about a drug addiction failure who couldn't make it as a pro with more God given talent than anyone I've ever seen in football.

Yet this guy is going to be a pro golfer, what proof do you need dumbass.
