I would like a deal to be struck and everyone compete in a worldwide tour where there are like 8 events spread over the year in addition to the majors
The PGA tour isn’t mean American bullies. They tried the WGC which is exactly what you are describing. It didn’t work
Golf as a money making entity works when you keep it in America

why did the PIF choose golf of all sports?
why not soccer or something else?
why not soccer or something else?

I used to hate LIV, now I completely forget that it even exists and other than Bryson and maybe a little Brooks forget all the players that are playing there even exist.

They are invested in Soccer, heavily. They own whatever team Rinaldo plays for and are paying him like 200 mil a year.

Soccer, boxing, MMA, UFC, etc Saudi money is getting into every sport. Jay had a chance to prevent this before it even started

It's just not that interesting.
Half the players look strung out, 25% are past their prime, another sector don't look engaged, then another sector would just be lower tier PGA players. Then, it's all kind of a pain in the arse to follow with the shotgun start bullshite. At one point yesterday it was "one to go" and I flipped back to the PGA tournament. When I flipped back to LIV it was "two to go"... Like, I don't care to try to keep up with all that.

Jay has :
Gotten the PGA tour over a billion dollar boost from PE
given up no power
Ratings are now back where they were
You can hate the man for whatever reason you want but as it relates to the Tour he has been magnificent

PGA deserves alot of credit for not panicking and folding to the PIF, especially after the rahm signing.
How much of that was monahan? Idk, but this will make a great book / documentary one day.

I'm still hoping for a merger of LIV and PGA.
Why? Most of the contracts with LIV are almost up and most of the better players are probably wanting to come back.. Rahm, Brooks and Bryson I'm sure would be welcomed back.. LIV has no leverage and isn't negotiating from any position of power.. Time to let LIV wither and die

What about Gooch? Everyone wants to see him play again.

They've already done and are doing soccer and F1 racing huge money in both. Golf was their next venture, probably because it's an international sport.

Also for comparison.
Last year’s Fox Sunday window from the same time slot LIV had drew 205,000 for the MLS March and 849,000 for a UFL game…..
Also, LIV CEO last week said this about whether or not US tv ratings were important

“Is this weekend important? Of course, it is,” O’Neil said ahead of Miami. “This one is important in the U.S., for the U.S. broadcast, and it’s on Fox, and that’s an exciting opportunity. Judge me this week, for sure.”
