I don't think they have any particular beef with the LPGA. They just weren't going to be bullied into hosting an LPGA event.
For a few years the president was asked why or when they were going to host a ladies event every year. This talk would die out and then resurface every 3-4 years.
So in the end, they host a ladies event, nullify any beaching about sexism, and exclude the LPGA.
And I think it's a pretty fricking cool event.
I'm biased as my daughter played in college. I think great golf doesn't require 7,500 yards.

The Golf Channel broadcast mentioned another reason the LPGA is moving their first major is due to conflicts with the ANWA event. The LPGA typically features amateurs in its major and they want to have some of the competitors that were in the ANWA in their event.

And here I thought it was because the LPGA was getting a boatload of money to move the event to Texas. I believe Chevron signed on for a lengthy partnership and a 60% bump in the purse.
But let's blame it on AN.
Oh, and the women's amateur event is a pretty cool event and lines up with the history of AN and amateur golfers.

I watched. Mostly because of the two lady tigers battling for first and AN. Wouldn't have watched other than those two reasons.

There are some great ambassadors for golf in the LPGA and especially the womens game. Christina Kim is not one of them.
