86 at Wetlands

Tripled 2, doubled 15

Played it down. CPO, but only had a smidge of mud on one shot.

Wind was a definite factor today, and the pins were all back, 2-3 steps from the fringe.

Mallard Cove - Lake Charles
43-41=84
37 Putts

Hit the new driver shaft a little better but need to get more consistent with it.

Greens looked pretty good and were reasonably fast. I had a couple of early 3-putts and never got comfortable on the greens the rest of the day.

79 at Carter Plantation today. 2 doubles and 2 birdies. Conditions were good as usual. Some of the bunkers were inconsistent and they are fixing the drainage in a few of them, but they were all mostly playable (I found myself in many of them ) Overall the course is in good shape.

Worst round since July of 2019 today. 95 at Santa Maria. Infuriating because I hit 7 fairways, and aside from 1 drive that ballooned up in the wind all of my misses were playable.

Wedge play was atrocious. Only GIR on the day was a par 3. At one point I had 4 straight GIR opportunities in the 80-120 yard range and I missed every single one and bogeyed all 4 holes. Going to hit wedges until my hands bleed this week.

75 at Webble, only posting because of how low that is for how sloppy I played, luckily you can chip the ball up next to the hole and it’ll come to a dead stop. Very interesting round, but that’s Webb for you.

Our golf games are similar at least score wise.

I try to play for the sure bogie. If I stay focused on that I get more pars than if I was trying to make par.

Doubles make me start pressing.
I’m pleased with two under bogie or better per side.

73 at Beaver Creek yesterday. 3 birdies 4 bogeys. Still searching for my first round under par but hopefully it’ll happen soon. Just need to work on short game more. Course is in really great condition but the gnats are still bad

Played Bayou Oaks for the first time. Played OK, putted terrible. But I'm honestly struggling to recall any of the holes. Just didn't have a lot of super memorable holes.

Oakbourne CC. 40-42 82 with 1 birdie and 2 doubles. Course is in immaculate condition, greens are receptive and are like glass.

85 at Copper Mill this morning. Just finished before the sky opened up on us.

Out 44 In 41. 7 pars. 3 of which should have been birdies. 36 overall putts. Just awful on the greens today. They were long and slow as molasses.

Shot my career low at Pelican Point Lakes on Sunday. 7 birdies and 4 bogeys for a 67. 36-31 on the two nines. Had one chip in, and a couple long putts drop. I’ve never had that many birdies in a round. Previous best was 5. This means I’ll shoot 87 next time out.

I’ll have to check out the Riverdale courses. It’s like $40 and it’s only about 20 miles away from me
