Also, I like Tron. Neil's shtick wears me down some. I love Big Randy, but don't get the vibe he even looked golf. I say all of that to say - they each have a role they play and each role caters to a different segment of their viewership. It's by design. I don't think anyone truly loves all 5 of them a the time. It's the Spice Girls setup for golf. There something for everyone.

I agree with this. The whole is definitely greater than the sum of its parts.

I just enjoy trons schtick of grumpy golf complainer. Think it brings a good opposite side of the take. Probably just because I know a bunch of guys like that. I feel like I see alittle of myself in all the NLU guys and that’s why I’m more drawn to it. Feel like I have literally nothing in common with foreplay crew.

I like EAL. Production value is great. His pod mostly boring to me. But I love his course vlogs or whatever.

I had to stop watching NLU for a while after their Scotland trip.

What made you stop watching? I randomly started watching the Carolinas Tourist Sauce, and I've been enjoying it. I haven't watched any of the others yet. I thought Scotland would be a good one to do next.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's because they play a Trump golf course and they discuss it. Iirc, they are reasonably fair in the criticism.

Scottish one might be the best one they’ve done. I really like Carolinas too. I thought the only problem with trump episode is they felt like they were walking on egg shells the whole time. Thought it was fair like you said. It’s amazing how much Trump stuff gets people fired up no matter what is said or done.

Foreplay blows. I don't think they've ever said one insightful thing in the history of the podcast. I will give them credit though, their YouTube content is good despite them. They are all horrible at golf despite Riggs being a 4 handicap and Frankie being an 8 or 9 or whatever. I don't think either could break 90 hitting cups. Riggs may be the worst personality at barstool, I just can't stand him.

NLU is very good, but I will say on a lot of their YouTube stuff I kind of get tired about them waxing poetic about "the property" and all that BS. It's just a golf course. That stuff wears thin on me a little bit, and they always seem to be asking people for money for stuff which is fine, but gets a little old when every time I listen or watch they want my money.

I'm all for raising money for people that need it just an observation I've made.

NLU is definitely a bit more "woke" and that can be a detractor for sure. The Carolinas Tourist Sauce was phenomenal but the attitude towards the Trump course on the Scotland trip was definitely a turnoff, it's just a golf course and they didn't really treat it that way.

I get it. If they were that butthurt they wouldn't have played it, but you also don't want to have to deal with a bunch of idiots screaming at you for playing it too.

Yeah, on a pod a couple of weeks ago, they suggested a minority exemption for tour events. I enjoy their stuff, but that got a big eye roll from me.

That's going to definitely happen. Tour is pumping a ton of money into diversity stuff including the APGA

My issue is the barrier to entry on tour is too much money. It takes grands and grands and financial backers and rich parents to really give it a go unless you're a Matthew Wolfe/ Colin Morikawa type coming out of college.

Not even saying you are wrong. But they kind of have to treat it that way or the liberal mob would attack them. They trying to keep making money off golf I can understand why they white gloved that one. We live in a world where you do or don’t do 1 little thing and you are cancelled. Hell you stopped watching because of it. Can’t please everyone

I definitely gave an eye roll when they were talking about minority exemptions. But I really don’t care. I just kinda moved on with my day. If that’s their opinion whatever. At minimum they made me think about something that’s never really crossed my mind. Rather that than just live in my echo chamber or people that only say things I agree with

I'm two episodes into the Scotland one. I noticed the big difference between that one and Carolinas is there is no overarching gambling contest. I think that is what I liked most about the Carolinas one. So, is the gambling a regular of the different seasons that they just happened to not do in seasons 1 and/or 2, or is the gambling more of a recent thing?

I believe they had tilt going during Cali season. I assume they probably didn’t have it at the forefront until Carolinas and tried it. I agree I thought it made the season way more interesting. I think Carolinas my favorite season. Also the first I watched so maybe that has something to do with it. I was super stoked for the Oregon season and thought it was kind of a letdown. I’ll give them a pass for covid season and all. But thought they got a little too cute with all the voice overs and stuff. Was just a little off brand. Once again I’m sure covid had a lot to do with it.

You need to go down Tourist Sauce in order. They've gotten better every time. So going back is quite jarring. Still good, but not the quality it is now.

They should’ve just said, “we know it’s owned by trump, we’re a golf company not political, we’ll let cnn and foxnews handle that” boom done. That’s how most companies should handle it.
