Yea I know I’ve seen the chart 100 times, first of all I think that’s a biased stat that only looks at certain rounds played.
Second of all, let’s assume the chart is correct, you don’t even know how to read that chart because that’s a chart for the odds of beating your handicap by those numbers back to back.
That chart claims the odds of a 2.5 cap beating their handicap by -6 on back to back rounds is 1/790. I imagine the odds for beating it once are much much better.

And if you look at the chart a more consistent golfer, the 2.5 hcp, is less likely to shoot an exceptional score, than a higher handicap.
It's much easier to go from a 90 to 82, 95 to 89 than a 73 to 67. In fact, it gets nearly exponentially harder for every additional stroke under par.

if you shot that score at most clubs as a 3hcp, they'd toss it out and call you a cheat.

Also, there's plenty of videos out there of him playing and chunking stuff in the water and shanking stuff. Then look at his age, weight, and god awful swing, it's not hard to realize the guy is not that great of a golfer. Especially not a 3 handicap or able to shoot under par.

I don't know if this is legit or not, but on GHIN, you can see his rounds that make up his 2.5 cap. His 20 rounds go back to 2011. So, it's only including his best scores. I question if this is kept up because his most recent round is 2021. So, that could be an indication of not being kept up or that he hasn't played a good round in 2 years.

I’ve seen one video of him shanking a ball. Even if he does occasionally, that doesn’t eliminate him from being a 2 handicap. I was a 1.1 at my lowest and I’d occasionally hit shots like that. I’ve also seen Trump hit one dead straight while the Country Club Adjacent guys roasted him.

Did you see his response to it? He said he shanked it because one of his guards made a noise that caused him to shank it. He also said it wasn't a big deal because he got up and down for par. He was in the bushes and the next shot was virtually impossible to get up and down from.

I realize shanking it doesn't disqualify you from being a good golfer.

This is kind of blowing my mind that people actually think he is a 2.5 handicap and that he can shoot a 67. There is zero chance either one of those happened. He probably did have a low handicap for a long time, but he certainly doesn't right now and couldn't shoot anywhere near a 67, much less in a tournament where you are needing to play it down. Which he has probably never done.

Ok buddy, you're right, 77 year old Donald Trump shot a 67 to win a club championship at a course where when LIV played there only 6 rounds were 67 or better.
I'm assuming you believe he also has won the 20 or so other club championships he has claimed? Including the one earlier in the year where he didn't even play the first day but was leading the tournament at the start of the second day?

Granted, these guys were playing with him more than 10 years ago, so obviously the age and physical limitations were a bit different then.

There's a gap there. I'd say it's not infeasible for a 77 year old to be a 3, but probably not likely. I am sure it is a vanity 3 in his case these days.
I agree that there is no fricking way he shot a legit 67 on a course like Bedminster. No chance.

I really don't get it. The dude is obviously a good golfer. I have no idea what his true handicap is. But he's not an elite golfer by any means. He didn't shoot a 67. He has lied about numerous other "club championship" wins over the years. He's won club championships on years where that particular course wasn't even open, lol. He has some kind of disorder that requires everything about him to be more amazing than anything else in the world.
