Dear lord, you're going to have to go so low to qualify. I can't imagine guys trying to qualify for the US Am shooting anything near par.

Every hole is a birdie hole out there except for 5-6 of them (#4, 7, 9 if they put the pin back, 14, 15, and 18). Will be interesting to see what the scores are, I’d guess somewhere between 6 and 8 under to get through.

It’s been a long time since I played in one of those. 1st stage qualifier?

That place will get eaten up. 14 is the only legit challenging hole for a plus handicap.

It is the most challenging hole there, but it isn't challenging. It's a cut driving iron followed by a 6 iron to a fairly simple green.

I think 12 and 14 will cause some issues. I would guess 7-9 under wins it.

It's just a layup before the hazard and a wedge into the green.. that one you just gotta play smart..

It is 36 holes. Minus 11-14 would be my guess.

The course rating is a 72.6, so expect it to take at least -8.

So your “lay up” goes into the hazard and you hit wedge from the shite when it’s dry enough to get in there and find your ball?

It is roughly 265 yards to lay up and another 155 yards in from there. That is a sizable wedge.

No I hit as close as I can to it without going in there and usually leave me PW or GW to the green..

Gotcha. I’d imagine most people are trying to lay up in the fat part of the fairway here so that they have the best chance to stay in the fairway and not end up in the rough or hazard.

So probably a 160-180 yard approach for most people if they hit it well. Otherwise it’s longer.

Yeah that's typically the safer play but yeah a longer shot for sure. If I pull my tee shot there I'm normally having to hit about an 8 iron on the approach which is still a fairly easy shot..

A smart drive on 14 leaves 170-180 in IMO. If you happen to not cut a drive longer than that you risk going in the shite or being cut off from the green on the approach. Trying to get to the 150 is not a smart decision

For clarification, I was taking about for the guys trying to qualify for the US Am. Not for me.

Trying to get to 150 with this dry hard fairway will almost always leave a ball in the trash unplayable.

3 hybrid to 175 by the hill is the smarter play
