If you have never had a lesson, why?

Just curious in general about the board's thoughts on lessons.

Its almost impossible to get better without someone seeing what you are doing IMO.

Definitely need a lesson asap.

The "S" has crept back into my game....

I almost quit the game 3 years ago because of it.

Had a lesson about 8 hours ago. 3rd lesson in the last 18 months.

Whenever there is something I need help with or to fix.

Not sure how anyone could pursue this game without taking a few lessons at some point. Even if they are a good player. There are so many things, so many nuances to this game that you need to at least
recognize (let alone execute). Seems like you’d be handicapping yourself (pun intended) if you didn’t seek instructions early and often.

I never had a formal lesson until I was 45.

I won some lessons.

It was useful.
I’ve worked with pros in specific issues ever since.
I’m looking at getting one soon.
Need to improve consistency of contact.

I played 9 yesterday and shot even par, but short game did most of that.

Only bogey was a smothered wedge from 110.
It was fugly.

Only birdie was a hybrid to 6 inches.
Got up and down 5 times. Only hit 3 greens. Was close enough to Texas wedge three of the missed greens. Played a pitching wedge bump and run close on one, and hit a short pitch with a sand wedge to 6 feet or so on the last one.

So I will have the pro take a look at my full shot setup and swing. Of course after this something else will get out of whack, rinse and repeat.

I had lessons in high school about 18 years ago. None since. It's been a brutal process to teach myself, but as a result of being self taught, I now know what happens when I miss a shot. I haven't had something creep into my game that I don't know how to fix already. It may happen, but hasn't happened recently.

It's not about knowing what I'm doing anymore, it's simply about execution. Having said that, I do need to go get a lesson to figure out how to quit pulling my irons. But again, I know what swing path I need to take to get the pull out of them, just need to execute consistently.
