There’s apparently a rumor going around in tour circles that Keegan is going to pick himself and Ben Griffin is the odd man out.
That would be pretty shocking to me, but we’ll see.

Kinda sad if true. Based on metrics for season / results, Griffin should be in without question. He’s higher than Cantlay, Cam, Burns, and KB in RC points. He’s had a significantly better season compared to many others this year. Better than KB, and much, much more than KB in 2023 when he got snubbed (and then received the pity pick for captain that put us in this stupid situation).
That being said, I’m also not against taking guys outside the top-12 if they have past experience in team events or promote good team chemistry (i.e., Burns). I also like adding 1-2 young guys who can mostly sit but get some experience.

Somewhat ironic that KB was seemingly selected to push back against the recent US Ryder Cup pick process. Now, a lot of people are predicting he does something similar to Griffin.

Griffin is playing better than most anyone on the planet this year. Just check the stats. He has earned it.
Definitely better than guys like Cantlay and Morikawa.
Im not convinced of that Sam Burns report. Not gonna be upset if its true, i just dont put any creditibility in that IG page.

I totally agree. I’m of the opinion that Keegan shouldn’t play. I know it’s cool and all, but he needs to focus on being captain first. If the US loses and Keegan picked himself, he’s going to get roasted even moreso than ZJ did.
And honestly it’s not like he brings a game to the table golf wise that can’t be replaced.

Rumor that Keegan wants Mickelson as co-captain so Phil can name Keegan to team in an ultimate FU to PGA move. Not sure I buy this rumor but boy would that be fun to watch.

Phil would have probably been the captain this year if he didnt go LIV. Supposedly, Tiger said no. Therefore, in the grand heirarchy Phil is the next guy. And Keegan and Phil are buds and were successful partners in the ryder cup. The PGA kinda hates Phil.

Keegan has played well this year and I think, in his mind, he has an opportunity to "correct" the wrong decision to leave him off the team in Rome. I agree he should've been on that team but also let's allow bygones to be bygones.
Easy for me to say from behind a desk, but if I were Keegan I'd forego choosing my self and go with:
