You'd be surprised how many pros hesitate change balls because of how they like the way it putts over performance with woods/irons.

True, but they wouldn’t leave 30 yards of driver distance on the table because one ball feels a little better off the putter face. 5 or 6 yards then maybe.

Well you are absolutely positively incorrect

Also, I think driving distance on the tour is over rated

If anything its underrated

Bryson is bombing it 350 and still isn’t winning. (3 top 10 finishes is still great)

He's the most cumulative under par since returning. He put himself in better position to win than any other player, and he hasn't even been that sharp with his short game. If he puts it great and drives it like he has he'll win by 5 or more shots

Snell MTB-X and TaylorMade TP5X are the best 2 balls for my game. I shot my 2 career low rounds with the Snell, and both have come since late February of this year.

Driver SS about 105ish
7 iron distance depends. If the pin is 165 out, my 7 iron will go 180. If the pin is 175 out, my 7 iron only goes 160.

I don’t think any of the premium balls are 30 yard differences though, are they?

Nope. The poster I was responding to said he loved the way his ball feels coming off the putter so much that he’d be hesitant to change even if another ball gave him 30 more yards.

If there was a 20 yard disparity between 2 Tour-level balls there is absolutely no way they would pass up the extra distance. That’s almost a club and half on every iron shot.

I meant just on the driver, not the irons. But I realize now that’s not possible to lose distance on only the driver. It’s late, my brain isn’t working.

Is this the OT? I love how everyone carries a 7 iron 170+. By the way, the average carry of a tour player is 172.

Bunch of bullshite up in this thread.

I am wondering what are most peoples thought on the matte'd balls like callaway supersoft or srixon soft feel? Is the matte finish just a gimmick?

Most people on here are probably playing 7 irons that are 6 to 7 degrees stronger than what the tour players play. I hit my 7 170 with roll out when I make good contact and it goes straight. Which rarely happens. Most people are playing jacked up irons and are listing the distance with good contact going straight.

I believe a lot of the distances on here. Except for the guy that said his 7 goes 195... that’s some bullllshit

This. Tour guys would hit these game improvement 7 irons 200+ yards easily.

This. Even with driver typically most people, at I am, are talking about carry distance not roll out.
