Minimal swelling, no bruising. Rolled while playing basketball. 14 y/o

Thought it would heal pretty quick. Pain( not severe) and slight limp still after a week, so what do I know….

Thoughts?

Start doing some exercises. Have to get it moving. Any mobility exercises will do the job.

Wear two pairs of socks and tighten shoes extra tight. It’s more vulnerable to rolling a second time if it’s only been a week. As long as the bruising/swelling/discomfort is minimal then just rehab it with stretching and mobility exercises. Make sure to do that first thing in the morning. Ice it and soak in hot water before bed.

Yes any basic exercise.

Also if it is swollen, you can use a bucket filled with ice water and write the alphabet with your foot to help get the swelling down.

Need to restrengthen or will be likely to happen again. Too many people just get to the point it “feels better” and neglect the residual issues.
