I think it naturally rises as we age due to hardening vessels. If you’re at 140/90 when you’re 75, that’s probably not that bad. If you’re only 30 though, you need to get it lower.

100%. They also tend to take the reading incorrectly. A reading after fighting traffic, being rushed back to the exam room, and asking a bunch of questions is not a true resting BP reading.

I check mine each morning, and usually in the afternoon. I monitor the monthly average, and try not to worry if just one or two days have an elevated reading. Monthly average is right at 115/75, but some days are certainly higher.

Look up a Peter Attia podcast about blood pressure. He lays it all out and doesn't opine on things he doesn't know shite about a la Huberman. He does delve deep into the weeds sometimes but I find his podcasts extremely useful.

He recently did one with "Dr. Lipid" about cholesterol. One this week is on insulin resistance. Both of which play a role in metabolic disease and HTN.

Lots of great suggestions and they all should be followed.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is garlic. Particularly aged garlic extract.
Supposedly it also removes built up plaque in the arteries.

No one I know can eat a clove of garlic straight. Not even my Italian friends.

Yep. Was at 240 lbs and borderline needing meds. Quit drinking dropped 25 lbs no BP issues.

I mean not straight garlic alone but for health reasons, and yes BP control, I'll do 2 cloves with a little honey and can down that pretty easily.

Mom was a nurse, and she cooked a lot with garlic. She extolled the virtues of garlic for the control of high BP.

I don't know if I can eat a garlic clove though. Maybe a little honey on it may help. I will give it a try.

Right now I am taking this: Kyolic

My blood pressure has always been in normal ranges.

I am taking an aged garlic extract along with K2
due to some moderate plaque build up in my coranary arteries

I keep a close check on my BP. High BP is not something to ignore.

A good friend of mine had a stroke due to high BP. He is messed up pretty bad now. I hate it for him and his wife.

Its been hard on both of them. His wife is his caretaker and sometimes she feels like she is going to lose it.

I lost 15 pound, was workin out with over 300 pounds, going to gym 5 days a week for two hours per time, doing enough cardio to lose 2 inches on my waistline and in best shape of my life and my cholesterol went down like 10 points. My preventive cardiologist told me all that was waste of time for me as my problem had to be genetic as all my effort barely touched my number. So I wasn’t just some fat arse that didn’t want to do the work. With all that my calcium score was off the scale. The Repatha saved my life.

I wonder if roasted garlic with some olive oil would have the same benefit?

IDK. Its worth a shot.

Garlic is good for the circulatory system with other benefits. It also acts as a blood thinner. So keep that in mind

Olive oil is supposed to be rich in Omega 3s which is good for your cholesterol levels.
