I play basketball a few nights a week and have trouble getting to sleep after late games and have been taking a few puffs of weed to help.

Problem is i get munchies and end up eating terribly late at night which i want to avoid. Anybody have any luck with something to help sleep but not bring on serious munchies?

I see things like Crescent 9 and wonder if that would help me sleep and not bring on the unwanted munchies.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, looking for something to help me sleep but not give me munchies. TIA

There’s other ways to get your shite together without immediately turning to weed.
Maybe try Melatonin lol

I've tried melatonin, did nothing.

A few beers worked, but, i didn't like drinking alcohol late at night and was feeling sluggish the next day.

I've tried stretching and meditation , laying down and doing breathing exercises to calm me also. None of those have really worked.

A guy i play with mentioned trying weed, and it does help to relax me. But, the munchies i don't like.

I have the same issue getting to sleep after doing hard exercise late at night. Usually my heart rate stays very high and thats why I cant fall asleep. The more conditioned you get the shorter you heart will beat fast and the faster you will fall asleep.

Yeah its the heart rate a little bit but primarily my muscles are still firing off / twitching and soreness keeping me from falling asleep.

I had the same issue, used to play ball once a week from 8-10 and then leave the house at 6:40 the next morning for work.

There was nothing I could do to fall asleep before midnight, and the sleep I did get was not restful. I just had to accept the next day to be a shitty one.

Give an ice bath or really cold shower a shot.

I have the same struggles, and it’s pretty much dominated how I structure my evenings nowadays. I have to shut off screens, music, or any kind of activity by 9pm or else I’m up until midnight. And a 5am alarm doesn’t work with a midnight bedtime.

When do the games end and what time are you trying to sleep?

Get something Sativa based. Hit it on the way home. Good clean high, no munchies, awesome sleep

If it’s a 530 or 630 game I’m usually good. 730 game is pushing it and if I play the late game at 830 I know it’s going to be an issue getting to sleep before 1/2am. Regardless if game time, I try to be in bed 10/11.

Definitely don't smoke weed or drink before bed. Alcohol destroys your sleep even though you may "pass out", your body isn't recovering.

Try red lights inside your house when you come home. You are already over stimulated from basketball. LED and blue light isn't making anything better. Red light helps the secretion of melatonin. It will be weird at first but you'll get used to it.
