Soy Milk?

I like using milk substitutes for my protein shakes. I used to use soy milk. I can’t find it anymore at the grocery stores around the house. It’s oat milk or almond milk. Is it just me? Wondered why.

Yikes.
What’s wrong with almond milk?

I don't drink any of that regularly, but I've tried them all out of curiosity. I prefer the taste of almond nut juice(I will not call it milk until someone can point out where the teets are on an almond), but they're all kinda strange tasting compared to milk. I have no idea how soy/almond/cashew/oat, etc nut juice tastes when mixed with protein powder, but you should try to do some unflavored protein mixed with diet root beer, or any kind of diet cream soda, also diet orange soda is good. And if you're not on a diet like me you can use full calorie versions of all of that. It's like a delicious creamy root beer float, that also has 50-60 grams of protein in it, and not much else if you're using whey isolate and diet soda.

I’ve used milk and like it. Water is too thin and doesn’t make a good shake IMO.
I can’t really tell much difference between any of the substitutes taste wise. I was more curious if anyone else had noticed that the soy milk was no longer prevalent?

Agreed. In all seriousness, when I'm cutting, I like to use unsweetened, unflavored almond milk.

Ohhh, okay, well I only go over in that area to look for kefir or cottage cheese, I'll look closer next time and see if the soy is missing. It does seem as if almond nut juice has taken over as the more prevalent nut juice, but I would have thought soy was a strong #2. Is the tofu supply also suffering?

My wife is lactose intolerant, so we drink Lactaid. I actually prefer that taste over other milk. Use it in my shakes and love it. Still not sure how you milk and almond or an oat.

Don't be a soy boy imo. The protein powder I use is perfectly fine with water. I read something a while back that has stuck with me. If a Protein Shake or Pre-Workout tastes like a drink you would get at a restaurant, it's probably not that good for you. My protein shakes (Transparent Labs) and pre-workout don't taste horrible, but you can definitely tell they aren't loaded with sweeteners/other crap.

I was using this for a while, but recently switched to Califia Oat Milk.
In my opinion, both taste better than cow's milk.

Soy contains isoflavones which is used as hormonal therapy for post-menopausal women. Just use whole milk, like God intended.

Grew up allergic to milk. I can have it now, but couldn't until I was about 20. I use it in my coffee, but that's about it.

If I don't drink cow milk, almond is my go to. I wouldn't touch soy with a 10 foot pole.

You really shouldn't be drinking any of the milk substitutes unless you have some type of cow milk allergy. It's there to replace milk for those who can't drink cow milk.

It's only unpasteurized, raw milk for me. Soy...really?

She should try raw milk. It has the proper bacteria to help digest milk unlike pasteurized milk.

I wrote my state congressman to allow us to drink this and no response.
