Starting Cut

Im currently at 5'9 205, lifts are decently strong but I'm starting to notice some love handles. I wouldn't consider myself fat, but I also am struggling to fit into the 36" pants. Point being, I keep reading on here that the goal is to hit 150g of protein, which I can hit pretty easily but that would have me at like 1,200 calories. Do I keep eating to like 1,900 calories, or is ~1,400 enough calories if I'm hitting 150g of protein? I realize the proper way to do this over like 5 months but I'm trying to expedite the process. compound lifts 3x a week, cardio 3x a week.

Most of those are troll blogs, I have been off the booze for a while but am always having urges to replace it with something. Be it caffeine or carbs, but they keep telling me it needs to be with God.
Here is the Diet i've been following.
Gym/Cardio AM
Food calories protein
Chicken Saus 110 13
2 eggs 140 12
egg white 100 20
shake(work) 270 40
Bar(work) 190 21
shake(work) 270 40
Chicken Breast 230 40
Buff Sauce 50 0
Cottage Cheese 80 14
TOTAL 1,440 203

I just never understand the people who work their butts off in the gym only to party it away on weekends.

At 5’9 205 you should be able to eat 2000 calories and still lose 1 lb per week. No way I would start a cut under 2k cals with those stats. If you need to drop them down later you can.

No. The goal said here is usually 1g per 1 lb of body weight. Some have said per 1 lb of goal weight but the bigger deficit you go into, the more crucial high protein is going to be. I was cutting at 170 lbs with 1400 calories a day and was advised here to get 200g of protein.

1400 is too low. High protein % and 1900 calories would take weight off of you.

That's way too low. You're gonna deprive yourself of fats and micros and make yourself unhealthy.
Were you tracking before? If you know what your "maintenance" is just cut it by around 15% or so. Keep protein up to around 200g and keep fats above 60g but less than 40% of your total calories. Fill the rest of your calories with whatever makes you feel the best. More protein won't hurt but carbs might help you keep performance up in the gym

Yep, 1900 cals with 200g protein, 3x progressive lifting and 12500 steps a day will strip fat off of him quickly.

ftr fitting into 36s doesnt mean you have a 36" waist.
i have a 35.5" waist right now and there was one set of jeans last week i tried on that i had to try a size 30 waist for.
waist size is measured at naval around.

I think I carry my weight in my hips and arse. I’ve seen several people wear 36’s with a huge gut. I’m having trouble getting the button clasped.

Hey I wanted to apologize, I was rereading my posts in this thread and I didn't mean to come across as I think I did. I'm proud of you for working out and getting your stuff right, Lord knows I'm struggling with it.
