Alright for you baws that have had this done how soon after did you start lifting again?
Doc's recommendations was not to do anything for a week. I've heard horror stories of guys who started up too soon and paid for it with complications.
Tomorrow marks the 1 week mark for me but don't plan to hit the weights til Monday....

I had probably the worst experience ever with mine. All of my friends had no problem. I would wait until Monday just to be sure.
I was out and bed ridden for like 3-4 weeks and had to have a second surgery.

I waited 2 full weeks before doing anything heavy. Took a full week off from the gym, first week back stayed super light and didn’t sit on an echo bike or do double unders for obvious reasons

Sorry to hear that Rendlo.
I've had pretty smooth sailing with it so far but I haven't done shite for a week, walked a few blocks to catch an uber after a concert has been the extent of my activity....

quote:Should be good by then, base it off how you feel though not others. Also start light the first week back. Mine was pretty much by the book recovery wise and two weeks out I was rocking and rolling, but be honest with yourself on how you feel. I know when I had mine after a couple of days I went to ditch the jock and that lasted all of 30 minutes before I knew that wasn't in the cards yet. Don't push through any discomfort out of the gate. Just consider it a nice rest for your body with the reward of worry free coitus with the missus moving forward.

If I remember correctly about two weeks. One of balls has a deep ache off and on for about six months.

I lifted heavy at around 9 days. Initially thought I messed up but it was fine.
I’m now 2 months out and I just submitted my first sample. I still have live ammo which is a bit of a bummer.

Had mine done in 1994. Hard to remember that far back.

damn, thats worse than me
ive mentioned before i had a varicocele from an old injury from when i was in the military in my left testicle. That is what caused my low test to start with that led to the fertility treatment blah blah blah. Well when i went to get vasectomy, he finished the right side in about 5-8 min, left side.....after like 30 min of working he could feel me squirming a little, he finally asked and I literally could feel everything. he was gonna stop but i told him no, told him to give me a clean towel to bite down on and to keep going. could literally feel him moving stuff around down there inside as the pain/numbing medicine has worn off. This is after i had already had surgery to repair/route around, the varicocele.
I was down for about 4 days. On Day 2 wife would make me get up and walk to end of the driveway and have her foot in my arse saying....if i can have a c-section after 14 hours of labor and be walking the next day, you can get your arse up and walk
i gave it almost 3 weeks before lifting as i was nervous AF to have to go back under.

It was horrible. I did everything by the book with the exception of wearing a jock strap. I wore tight whitey tighteys. I had the most renowned Urologist in Memphis. Top Ranked. He said I was only the 2nd person in his 40 years of experience that was as bad as I was. My sack grew to over grapefruit size. Bruises down to my kneecaps and up my belly. I would wear two jock straps and they still couldn't support. When I took a shower, I would have to use my hands to support them while my wife bathed me. Worst pain I've ever felt. Each week, I'd call and tell them this can't be normal and they kept telling me it would correct itself. Doc finally told me to come in and took one look and scheduled my operation immediately. That was the first time I've ever been under anesthesia and I never want to be again.
Literally had to lay down for 3 weeks straight because if I sat, I would crush my balls.
On top of all that, I started a new job 1 week after the procedure. Luckily, they were awesome and paid me while I was down.

im actually lucky...i have one of the best doctors in the world for this...99% of doctors would not have been able to even complete the surgery like he did. maybe 25 in the whole US that would have even attempted it. That MFer got it done though

I had mine done on a Friday morning and took the weekend to sit in a recliner watching TV with strategically placed frozen peas. My preferred exercise is cycling, so the doc told me to take a week off minimum and two for anything strenuous like lifting. He told me the story of another patient who ran a marathon the next day after his and called from the ER with his nuts the size of grapefruits.
Anyone thinking about this procedure will hear this from their doc but it bears repeating: don't ignore it, be sure to follow up on your labs and wait until you've got two consecutive zero sperm count results before resuming live fire exercises without other birthcontrol methods. I used to work with a guy who didn't and then was half way through divorcing his wife when she ended up pregnant and it was his after all.
Addendum for the squemish, I had the doc prop me up so I could watch the procedure. It was interesting to watch but not feel what was happening.

You have the rest of your life to lift, take a good 2 weeks off. More if it does not feel right.
Deload a good 10-20% to be safe and start the journey again.

If I hadn't had mine already, these two would have talked me out of it.

Dang Rendlo & 777 you boys had a time with yours.
Everytime my wife walks by I give here the hour countdown of when we can start unloading the live ammo. Doc said they can live up to 3 months, his recommendation on how many to fire off was in my opinion low so I pumped the numbers on what I told the wifey.
Good advice all around. Will see how sensitive unit is on Monday and go easy with it. Not planning on hoping on a bike or anything but honestly I've never noticed how my nutz felt during weights....
Cheers

I did as told and sat in a recliner for an entire day while icing my sack. The next day I wore baseball sliding shorts over a jock strap to keep from jiggling around. Next day I wore the same setup and played golf.
8 days later I did a test run of my equipment with a fist. I can still remember the excitement when all went well. No holds barred after that.
Good luck. Oh, I did notice less product but the “feeling” was about the same.
