Found weephole exclusions pulled out. Would mice do this?

Obviously filled with copper and other filler. Never seen this happen before. 3 weepholes in a row had the filler pulled out.
Another on the opposite side of the house also had it removed.
This was meant from keeping mice/rats from entering the house. Is it possible they could have pulled it out?
These exclusions have been in place for 4 years. Seems odd all of a sudden.

Are you talking about weep holes in brickwork, air conditioner drain line, or what?

I’ve never seen that happen. Maybe replace the copper with the stainless steel wool style (less malleable). Pack it in there tightly.
And put some traps in your attic. That will confirm the issue.

Mice, squirrels, rats, etc could all do it. There's usually signs of them though, like chew marks on any nearby wood. Put something in there to see if something moves it.
The weep holes are there for a reason though make sure they are still able to do their job.

I saw the same thing at my house. Looked at the security cam footage and it was a mocking bird pecking them out to get at a bug or something.
Little ahole had a system down. He took out 4 of them like it was his job.

makes sense. It was probably getting nesting material?

Nope. It left the copper mesh on the ground. It got a bug.
