I’ve built houses both ways, it’s the method I prefer. All concrete cracks.

RUN!!!

Unless you are aboslutely positive you will never expand or renovate your house that require slab modifications your wallet will take a massive hit. Even if it is something small that is located between tendons you will have to pay for an GPR to locate the tendons. I've seen some catastrophic shite go wrong when a tendon pops (whether during installation or after).

Not to install, sure. There is a reason it's fallen out of style for commercial construction with the exception of parking garages.

I was a commercial contractor for 20 years. We did exactly one post tension slab. Like I said, plenty of pros and plenty of cons

I’d have a geotechnical report done. Probably a couple of grand for a residence is worth the piece of mind that your subgrade is suitable.

Totally agree and I would love to get some parking garage jobs because we make really good money for the time we have to invest. I just think a lot of residential contractors intentionally do not tell owners about the cons.
