to bring this up again
this is what I think will happen storm will come directly at BR maybe little west or a little east doesn't matter. By the time it makes landfall the winds will start to weaken. The center of the storm is predicted to be here at 7pm wednesday night and by that time the max sustained wins will be around 50mph in BR during Gustav winds were sustained between 65 and 70. Also the northwest side of this storm may be the weakest side of this storm and really untill the center passes over us that's what side we will get. I say we won't see sustained wins over 60mph through this entier storm. This storm will do much less then Gustav did. It will cause lots of damage I don't deny that but it isn't a gustav.
about the game if we have power and debris isn't scattered all over the place then we could very well play

the center of storms especially this storm wobbles and doesn't go a straight path, it will make slight jogs north and some west. But the general movement is still probably NW

There was also about 15 Wildlife & Fisheries trucks and boats heading down south for rescue

Thats it? I admit I don't know much about hurricanes but I would have guessed they would have been over 100. Its crazy that it did that much damage with winds that were only that fast.

Why are you laughing? Do you not think there is going to be a game? Is there going to be a game on Saturday?

sustained winds are different the gusts I believe at the BR airport they had a gust up to 96 MPH and sustained winds or winds that stay the same for 1 min, of 65 MPH

Your dumb arse just keeps laughing.....I'm waiting for you to tell us why you think the winds will be so strong if this thing is on land for 10+ hours before it gets to BR.

The Meteorologists are all happy now. They can all go smoke a cigarette because they all just had an orgasm. I have never seen people who wanted this to be a hurricane and have a freaking "EYE" in all my life.

Isaac is looking pretty good on the visible satellite. Clouds are wrapping around big time. Not so much on the infrared.
Yes, i think there may be some Dry Air that is inhibiting the storm from developing faster.

There were fairly routine gusts in the upper 80s, with a max somewhere in the 90s in north BR at the airport. I'm sure south Baton Rouge and the Ascension Parish area had higher winds than that.
75 mph winds in an urban area for several hours is a very big deal.....especially a city with a vast tree canopy like Baton Rouge.
One thing I don't understand: subdivisions layed out in the 1970s have underground utilities up here. We almost never lose power. South Louisiana doesn't do this except in the newest developments. Why doesn't Baton Rouge retrofit as they are widening these roads throughout the city?
